Hello friends! I’m in town for an interview, and am sticking around through next week. I’d love to meet up with folks (anyone know of a good bar trivia night?)
In 1792, the underground Café Sten Sture in Gamla Stan was a prison. According to its website, "It’s an amazing experience to sit in our caves from 1400 century. We have many cozy and exciting Caves." It was fun in November, when two additional MeFites made an appearance. It will also be fun in January! [more inside]
Hylaea and have I moved to Ottawa and don’t know many people. We would love to hang out with however many of you can make it. [more inside]

Well, all, we have not had a meetup in a while now, or even a couple of whiles. Patio season is behind us, but Storm Crow Manor is descending upon us. Seems like as good a rationale as any to assemble and have a free-ranging discussion of stuff. [more inside]
I'm going to be in Austin for a work conference, but would love to escape the schmoozing and meet some locals. Anybody up for getting together the evening of October 16? [more inside]
I'm on a roundabout drive from NYC to Minneapolis and will be stopping in Toronto from Friday 12th October til Sunday the 14th. I've never been to Toronto and have never been to a MetaFi meetup, so this could be a big weekend for me. Any Torontonian Mefites free for dinner or drinks Saturday (and/or possibly Friday depending on what time I can get into town)? [more inside]

Let the Child of Destiny ride again! Or somesuch. George & Dragon, Fremont, Pub Trivia
Since a few people expressed interest who couldn't make it last time, trivia is on again this Tuesday at Folly Brewpub. Trivia starts at 7pm, but I'm generally there from 6:30. Last time we had a resounding win, so we need to try to retain our crown. Very low stakes, only a round of beer, but always fun.
I want to go to Tamara Shopsin's reading with John Hodgman at Books Are Magic if work doesn't wear me out too much. If you'd like to come too, that'd be cool! We could also get dinner and/or drinks at one of many nearby drinking and dining establishments (like Leyenda, perhaps?). [more inside]
Are there any MeFites in Gainesville, FL? [more inside]
We're visiting family there next month and I'd love to meet some Canadian MeFites in the flesh. We're staying near the Emily Carr statue and residence, so a cultural outing would be swell. It looks like the only day we'll have free is 9/11. Is anybody available then?
XOXO is happening this week in Portland – we're going to meet up at Ex Novo Brewing on Thursday before the festival opens! [more inside]
Mr Kris10_b and I have been going to trivia at Folly Brewpub on College St, but there haven't been many people showing up. I was wondering if anyone woukd like to join us for the next trivia night on 11th September so we can have a few more team members, or possibly another team. The prize is just a round of beers, but they have a good range of questions and it's always a fun night.
Following on from the meetup in Manchester a few weeks ago, anyone want to get together again, either to find a few more bees before they buzz off or anything else? [more inside]

Wild in Art and Manchester City Council are bringing all of Manchester’s communities together for Bee in the City – a stunning public art trail of over 100 individually designed giant Bee sculptures. Crafted by regional professional and emerging artists, it will weave its way across the city during the summer of 2018. There are also 131 Little Bees on display, designed by local schools, nurseries and youth groups. It’s free, it’s fun, it’s fascinating – and it will be in Manchester from 23 July – 23 September 2018.[more inside]

Under_petticoat_rule and I will be in Glasgow briefly. We're Americans but don't hold that against us. Come have a pint with us at a pub that comes highly recommended by many sources including the Good Pub Guide (with special awards for beer selection and budget pricing). Tell us all the things we should be seeing in Glasgow!
I have never been to: a) Game Haus, or b) a MeFi meetup, but I would very much like to. Would any of you be interested in doing game night there this month or next? The only days I can't do are the ones surrounding Comic Con weekend (July 18 - 22). UPDATE: Date/Time added!

Hey, MeFites of Portland and Portland-adjacent places! Mr. Conspiracy and I are going to be visiting Spokane at the end of July. We're free in the late afternoon and into the evening of Friday, August 3 and I'm wondering if there are any Spokane or Spokane-adjacent MeFites who want to get together for a meetup. Thinking a hangout involving drinks, food and mellow conversation in a reasonably chill venue in/around downtown Spokane. Suggestions welcome - we've visited before and we know there are some great beverages and eats to be had in that town.
With everything going on, I'm in the mood for some community building. Are there enough Montreal mefites to make a meetup? [more inside]
Join us for an ice cream social at the Village Green Park in Northbrook! Bring a picnic, or buy a hotdog, and have some ice cream. Park features shady grassy areas, picnic tables, and a great playground if you bring the kids! (The small McGees will be there.) Hang out and chat with the grownups, or rediscover your inner child on the playground (we won't judge). 1 block from Metra, free parking for drivers. [more inside]
