In theory a trivia attendee had news. Plus, there are fun questions. Anyone in?
It's finally fall, so why not celebrate with a meetup!? I was thinking McKenna's pub on west 14th would be good. Thursday the 16th at 6pm. I was also thinking about making a biweekly Saturday meetup if anyone's interested. Suggestions for a venue for that are welcome too.
Drinks, food and art. I will be in Richmond for First Friday and want to explore the heck out of it on foot. Lemaire at the Jefferson Hotel has fancy happy hour in the bar from 4 to 7 pm. Appetizers 3 for $20, wine and drink specials. The Lantern Parade starts at 7 pm. There are light sculptures around the Arts District. If there's later night blues music that would be even more swell. Come wander with me. [more inside]
The usual thing at the usual place. [more inside]
There is no Lowcountry Cabal. Maybe we can change that? [more inside]
I'm giving a public lecture on NW Coast Archaeology at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) on October 3rd at 7.45 (This link says 7.00 but there is an AGM first, I think). It's free and open to the public. If you come, be sure to say hi. I'm also in Portland the next day (October 4) and if anyone was interested in meeting for an after-work beer that would be fun - but I'm staying near Gladstone/Jennings Lodge so don't know how feasible that is, I don't know Portland at all.
I've got a group of three or maybe four people who will be carrying on the MDC tradition at the George on Tuesday. JOIN US. [more inside]
I am in SF until 15th September and would love to see some friendly faces. Let's meet for casual drinks Tuesday 12th September, 8pm at The Sycamore in the Mission. It'a on Mission between 17th & 18th.
That time of week draws near again, and I've missed trivial facts. I'm bringing two people with me, so we only need three more to round out the crew. Unless we want to divide and conquer, of course! (Moved the date to Sept 5, which was my original intent)
Hey Toronto crew, I miss you all! How's a lazy afternoon weekend meetup sound? I'm thinking starting at noon on Sunday September 17th. [more inside]
I'm not married to this event, but it does sound fun! This happens at the Windup Space once a month. I haven't played many board games but I know it's a popular thing to do around MeFi. I haven't seen any Baltimore meetups since I've been here, so figured why not! [more inside]
Hey everybody, I really want to go to this! Based on my friends' pictures, the bar has a bunch of props and it just sounds like a treat. Anybody else up for grabbing a drink or two there? (Non-drinkers interested in drinking non-alcoholic stuffs are welcome as well, of course). [more inside]
To all my Northern New England MeFites out there -- let's get together for a hike in the Whites before the cold! We've picked a moderate trail with a great view pay-off. If there's interest, we could also hit up a coffee shop, pub, microbrewery, etc. after the hike. [more inside]
I just can’t even with the news. So that means just one thing: ICE CREAM [more inside]

Anybody interested in seeing Jaws on the big screen at the UPCA? They will begin with a 'beach party', then a Q&A with 2 shark experts. Tickets are $10 online, $15 at the door. If you've never been to the UPCA, it is a beautifully restored movie palace (previously on IRL). [more inside]
Update 2: Moved to 27th since eclipse weekend seemed like quite a conflict. If that's even worse I can move dates again! Let's eat dim sum. Hope to see you for some good eats. 11:30 at Bamboo Garden in Brooklyn's Sunset Park, a short walk from the N train.

Hello Stockholm Mefites! (And surrounding area) I'll be in your lovely country for two weeks in late August/early September for my honeymoon, and I would love to meet up with people, buy a round, etc. [more inside]
Business is bringing me to Albuquerque on Tuesday 8/1, and I can't get a flight home until Wednesday. Any local Mefites want to meet up for dinner, drinks, or both that evening?
SF or Bay Area mefites: let's do brunch again? Details confirmed: Roosevelt Sip 'N' Eat, on Saturday, Aug. 12, at noon! The consensus seems to be in favor of math puns. [more inside]
Hey fellow Ohioans, I just moved here a month ago and would love to meet some fellow members. I am in Old North Columbus and would be willing to meet anywhere in the city. I looked at past meet-ups and it looks like its been a while since the last one so let's get together over food/drink and talk.
Hi, people. Let's meet up. Internet Fraud Detective Etc. is in town. In her honor, a meetup classic: the 4th Ave Pub. [more inside]
It's summertime in Ithaca! zamboni and I have been thinking it might be nice to catch some Shakespeare in the park, then head to a bar afterwards for a meetup. [more inside]
Anyone who is underemployed, self-employed, playing hooky, or otherwise available is most welcome to meet me at Cafe Dejena for a twice-weekly co-working/socializing experience. See below for specific dates (as requested by cortex so as not to clutter up IRL). [more inside]
I haven't seen any meetups proposed for Philadelphia, so I'm wondering if there is an active enough contingent there to warrant putting one together. Philly MeFites, are you there?
Join me at Cafe Dejena from 10 am to 1 pm for the 2nd MeFi co-working meetup. Anyone who is underemployed, self-employed, playing hooky, or otherwise available is most welcome to come. There is free wifi; beverages and food are available for purchase. This place is close to the MacArthur Bart station. [more inside]

I'll be in Hong Kong doing research through the end of July, and I'd love to meet a few HK-based Mefites. Would folks be up for getting together--I'm thinking an inexpensive noodle shop for dinner, then/or an earlyish drink--sometime in the next few weeks? [more inside]
I'm interested in planning a meet up where people can chit chat and get to know each other. I've never been to a meet up so I don't really know how these things go. I would say we could go to a chill bar as long as they have non alcoholic drinks. If anyone has other ideas, those would be great too. Proposed time: early evening, in a week or so. Does anyone have preferences for time and day?
It continues! A meetup for London every month for 2017 (and hopefully beyond) [more inside]
CHANGE OF DATE! Last time we went was six (!) years ago and we had a lot of fun. Let's go back and do another hike in the Blue Hills, Greater Boston's favorite hills! [more inside]
Worldcon is in Helsinki this year (http://www.worldcon.fi) and I'm bringing resident 11 year old. Dates are 9-13 August though I think we are arriving on the 8th. Anyone else planning to be there? I've been to 2 Worldcons before and generally the problem I've found is I have no problem talking to new people but meeting up with people I already know can be difficult if we haven't made concrete plans as Worldcon is just so big. While I am all about the sitting and drinking, that probably won't be very 11 yo friendly so I am open to other suggestions - maybe a picnic or walk near the convention centre? Or an evening meal?
I'm visiting Montreal from 4-14 August and I'd love to meet some MeFis while I'm there if anyone is around and interested in meeting up. [more inside]

Phire'll be in town next weekend, visiting from the famous country of Canada. So come meetup with her! Lots of bars and stuff are crowded and/or noisy on a Saturday, so grab a bottle of something delicious and come on over to my house, which even if it also becomes crowded and noisy, it'll be crowded and noisy with us! The plan is to mix the delicious things together to make deliciouser things. [more inside]
So last month, the calendar and my dark mood got the best of me and we didn't get together for activism talk and grousing and camaraderie -- with food and drink!) Let's fix that this month at the Long Room. [more inside]

I think we should have a meetup because it feels like it's been a while. I propose we meet at Mi Rancho in Silver Spring because it has an outside space, it's nearish the Metro, and restaurants with margaritas are good for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. [more inside]
