Boldly continuing with Star Trek Happy Hour, "Rightful Heir," finds Lt. Worf/DC Mefites suffering a crisis of faith which leads him/them to an encounter with the resurrected/returned "Klingon messiah" Kahless/"mostly inoffensive" Skwirl.
Lt. Worf/DC Mefites had many questions for Kahless/Skwirl, such as, "what is Sto-Vo-Kor/Bu-Da-Pest like?" and "how can we prevent the Klingon Empire/US Nation from succumbing to civil war/also civil war?" [more inside]

Symphonic Video Game Music Concert
The Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra performs music from video games, adapted for full symphony orchestra and chorus. For variety, we also feature small ensemble and a cappella pieces. The second concert of our Spring 2016 season is this Saturday, June 25th, at the F. DC Meetup for Expectant/Recent Parents and Anyone Who Doesn't Mind Talking About Strollers

Washington DC is open again!
I'm going to be in DC on Friday November 1 for a meeting (which just got finally confirmed, even though everyone in the department I contract for has been furloughed recently and so it hasn't had any organizers...) and I'll be staying overnight. Wondering if any mefites want to meet up for dinner and/or drinks? I'm staying in Dupont Circle, but happy to head anywhere. Update: we have added a restaurant venue.

The lovely Coldchef suggested it to me which he sadly cannot attend so I was seeing if any Mefites would like to meet up for dinner and/or drinks beforehand and then attend the show which is free. Hi all. We moved to DC at the beginning of December and although I've already met a few of the area's fine MeFites, I'd like to meet more.
My own special snowflakeness: I have a toddler and my significant other comes home late, so weekends are best.

I'll be in Washington DC for a little bit and would be game for a meetup on either the 14th, 15th or 16th. Interested? Evenings are better for me, it'd be cool to go for drinks or something. A pal of mine is in the Silver Spring Stage production of Noel Coward's Private Lives and nearly guarantees a good time to any attendee. Cutting British wit, that sort of thing. It's at 8. Wanna grab beverages/food before &/or after? Update: My pal says, "For pregaming, there's a Mexican place also across the street that is ideal - Fajita Coast."
