Dear Austin friends, it has been a long time since I've seen your smiling faces. We're in town for the Rhiannon Giddens concert on Thursday night and have Saturday afternoon open. I don't know where a good meetup place would be, but ideally it would be outdoors with a shaded patio for health reasons. Would love to find a good place and see y'all! Radio East, 3 PM onward. Looking forward to seeing those who can make it!

Ooh Exciting! I have class 'till 4, but I'd love to meet some local MeFites in the real if folks are still hanging out!
A couple of spots come to mind:

Radio Coffee and Beer (2 locations, nice outdoor seating, coffee, beer, tacos, kid friendly)

and

Kinda Tropical (More of a bar, but with nice big outdoor seating area, good food menu, coffee and NA options)

Neither spot has any events on their calendars for that afternoon/evening, so regular Saturday crowds would be the only thing to contend with.

Man, I'm going to be out of town as well. I'll throw out Austin Beerworks Sprinkle Valley as a great meetup option. Outdoor seating. Tables, chairs. Plenty of space. Food truck.

Ooh, this is very possible. Radio and Kinda Tropical are good spots. I'd definitely go for the new Radio East, even though it's further afield, because they have so much more space and the parking is a dream.

I would throw Meanwhile Brewery or Cosmic Coffee + Beer Garden into the mix.

I have a session slated for “all day” out in Utley, but if we get done cutting bass & drums in time to swing by for a few, I will.

Downside: I’m iffy. Upside: New Coffee Sergeants album!

Radio East is having a crawfish boil today, I see, which started at noon ... hopefully they won't be too jammed up (although the threat of rain may keep people at bay). I'll be heading that way in a bit.
