Passing through Seattle - is anyone resident or attending PAX/Bumbershoot? This is probably too short notice, but *waves* - if anyone feels like meeting up for a drink at Old Stove Brewing, or sushi at Blue-C, or similar...
I'm visiting my hometown and would love to see some mefites, eat some onion rings, and attempt to remember the capital of Kyrgyzstan! (In case it comes up, it's Bishkek.) Let's quiz it up, mefites!
The World Cup is over and The George and Dragon is back open for Quiz Night tomorrow Tuesday July 24 at 8 pm. I’m craving bad onion rings. [more inside]

Who's up for a trivia run next Tuesday? Lurkers? Anybody? Usual suspects?
Our bizarre hybrid of "knowing things" and "the other thing" seems to be a real winner. Or at least places a solid second on a regular basis. Let's go unseat the champions!

Whatever the weather, how about pub quiz *next* week?
Anyone up for the usual trivia at the George and Dragon?
Ok, we are all back from college for Thanksgiving, sleeping on an air mattress in our father's den surrounded by Bill Cosby books on fatherhood and Ronald Reagan posters. You can't find decent whiskey at home, so come join the Seattle MeFi juggernaut Manifest Destiny's Child for the usual evening of Pub Quiz Trivia to the Death at the George and Dragon. [more inside]

I'm back in town on the 12th. Seattle meetup?
Hello Seattle! This is my first visit but I don't really know the area at all. I will be in town Aug 30th-Sept 4th and I'd love to meet some other MeFis, maybe whilst drinking some good beers or eating some good (vegetarian friendly) food in the process. Edit: after some discussion I had chosen Highline, but they added a show to their calendar on Sat 9/2 so that option is out. Let's meet up instead at The Stumbling Monk for some board games and beers at 8pm. I am also going to check out Plum Vegan Bistro before for dinner then walk over if anyone would like to join! (1429 12th Ave at 6:30ish).
Pub quiz at the George and Dragon, low key, reasonably funny, onion rings. Regulars? Lurkers? Comeback tours? All welcome.

The George and Dragon has a guest trivia presenter this week, apparently. Let's see if we can repeat our 38-point showing from last week.

Would anyone like to take a walk in a Pokmon-rich environment? Lincoln Park has water and beach and consistently has interesting water, fire, and psychic types. Let's meet at the log benches about halfway down the north parking lot (can walk from the C line bus stop at Rose St. into the park and a tad north on the trail next to the parking lot). Pub quiz at the George and Dragon, as so often before.
Surely one second-place week only brings us more rebarbatively to the fray? I'll be there if anyone else will.

My husband and I will be staying in the North Beacon Hill area for a few days on our way home from our trip to Alaska and have never been to Seattle before. Would anyone be interested in a meetup? We're totally open to suggestions! August 11 or 12 would probably be the best since we aren't traveling those days, though brunch on Saturday could also be an option.
Trivia night. Again. [more inside]
Join us in our continued domination of the weekly George & Dragon Pub Quiz, which apparently is made up nearly entirely of MeFites, anyway.
We have retreated like the gathering wave: next week let us fall on our foes and smother them in foamy facts.

In this next installment, we resolve to no longer talk ourselves out of correct answers.

She's curated a Pacific Northwest Animation Showcase at the NorthWest Film Forum on Capitol Hill this week, and on Friday the animation fun will culminate with her launch party at 6 PM.
