Answer Questions?
I like trivia, and so do you. Let's make the weekly game at G&D happen again.

There's no place like Haus for the holidays!
Lets get together for board and card games! With the holidays fast approaching, do people want to try for another Game Haus IRL before 2018? No experience necessary! Game Haus is a laughter-filled place in Glendale that has over 10,000 games, from strategic board games to party games like Pictionary. We usually get a mix of experienced players to help guide us and people like me, who have never played most of the games, and everyone is really patient. It's always a great time. Plus, they love us! Ignore Super Bowl?
We're coming up on that national tradition known as Super Bowl Sunday. In the past we've gotten together to play games rather than watch the game, but there was always something missing which prevented us from achieving the full on ignore experience: the actual football game in the background being completely ignored. [more inside]
We Heart Games!
Join us for board games and snacks at our place in Beaverton! [more inside]
Board games at the Blue Shirt Cafe
The last time we met to play board games went well. Let's ring in the new year with a session at the Blue Shirt Cafe on Sunday, January 22nd, from 2:00 to whenever we want to leave. People can bring their own games of whatever genre and difficulty they like. If people would prefer to meet at a different time or date, I'm sure we can work something out. [more inside]
Second Saturday Second City Stand-Up Sanity Check Committee Or SSSCSSCC*
So there's no way I would have made it through the last few post-election days without the support of my friends and family, especially seeing so many reactions that amounted to"WHAT CAN I DO?" and last night I was struck by all the youth hitting the streets, but, even as I was there, I wondered "what can I, an older person out of the activist game, do?" Here's what I came up with: [more inside]
Board games at the Blue Shirt
It's been a while since we had a board game meetup in this area, so let's see whether there's interest in a new one. One of us could host it, or we could meet at a restaurant such as the Blue Shirt Cafe on Davis Square or a conveniently large Panera Bread like the one near Fenway Park. Based on past meetups, Knight Moves seems to have been a bust. A weekend, which would allow for the most play time, would probably be best. When and where sounds best to you all? EDIT:Let's meet at the Blue Shirt Cafe on Davis Square at 2:00 on Sunday, October 30th! Feel free to bring any game or games you'd like to play.
Spoopy board games for October
As usual, it's taken me forever to get another proposed event together because I am terrible with numbers, and events, and time. But! With the season of the witch nearly upon us, what better time to try a thematic board game meetup? [more inside]

Cards at the Cambridge Public Library
The last card-game meetup went well, so let's have another one. Let's meet at the library next Sunday, May 1st, at 1:00. That time and venue are flexible: If people would prefer a different time or place, I'll change it.
Card games at the Cambridge Library
Does anyone in the Boston area want to meet up and play cards? I'm open to any games less complicated than Bridge and more interesting than War. I don't know any great venues for card-playing off the top of head, but I'm sure we can think of something. Even if you don't know any games yourself, you're welcome to come: For my part, I'll bring one of those big books of card games. EDIT: Let's meet at the Cambridge Public Library at 1:00 this Sunday, April 17th! If not enough people can make that time, date, or place, then all of those things are flexible.
GameHaus Cafe

The address listed here is not the actual address for the meetup.

I will be hosting a Games Day in my home on Wednesday, November 11th. This is Veteran's Day and is a holiday for federal workers. Start time is 11 AM, but people come and leave as they please, and since we tend to play shorter games it's easy to work in if you come after the start time. [more inside]

Card, Board, and Strategy Games in Frederick, MD
I will be hosting a Games Day in my home on Sunday, June 14th, from 3 PM until the last person leaves (which will likely be at least midnight). Games on hand include Tichu, Poker, Ticket to Ride, Blokus, Pegs and Jokers, Scrabble, Boggle, etc. People are welcome to bring their own games as well. We tend to split up into groups if there are enough people. Current expected attendee count is 6-8 but I would love a few more and I'd love to meet one or more Mefites in person. [more inside]

Georgian Soup Dumplings and All The Games
Citizens! I have a sudden and incontrovertibly ingenious plan, inspired by a Jonathan Gold review on KCRW of the Tumanyan Khinkali Factory, describing the khinkali as a "near peak soup dumpling experience." Given that this is in Glendale, and thus in vague proximity (2ish miles) to MeFite favorite GameHaus Cafe (previously and previouslier)...well, you can imagine my excitement! [more inside]
GameHaus
Let's do this again! The last meet-up at GameHaus was so much fun and we all talked about doing it again soon. I'm going to propose any Sunday in April, around the same time, 3:00pm. [more inside]

Grand Central Market Game Nights -- Take two!
After checking in with Celsius1414 I'm re-posting this since it didn't get off the ground last time.
Food! Drink! Games! Friends! Food and drink and games and friends at the same time!

I stumbled across a mention of gaming nights at Grand Central Market in DTLA and tracked down this press release and then this page.
Game Night at Grand Central Market
Looking to unwind after a tough day at work? Searching for fast, amazing fare to satisfy your foodie cravings? Planning a non-cliche date night? Whatever your Downtown LA dilemma, the city's oldest food hub has your back.
Enter Game Night -- eat, drink and play every Thursday until 9 pm. Grab dinner and drinks from our late hours vendors over an assortment of classic and new games: ping-pong, cornhole toss, Jenga, Uno, Cards Against Humanity, Scrabble, and many more. Just head over to the Hill St. Platform to get started.
We broached the subject of a gaming night at our last meetup (mmmm ramen), so this "proposed" post is more of a means to continue that conversation than saying it should be here at GCM necessarily.
Update 9/5: The consensus during our Ethiopian food meetup conversation seemed to be that with everybody being spread out, it's difficult to make a game night plan on work nights. If someone else wants to propose game/trivia/movie meetups for their individual environs, that might be the better way to go. [more inside]
