Could potentially do Friday, but not Saturday. Both locations a-ok.

Likewise for me — Friday is fine, Saturday not. And I was on Edward Street a couple of weeks ago: either Roll Play is relocated or it is no more. There is a restaurant in its place now.

I could theoretically do either day. The spouse will be curling both days, unfortunately (well, for me; he'll have fun).

File me under Friday: Maybe, and Saturday: Nope.

Agh, I'd love to come but I'm definitely not available on Saturday and Friday night is a maybe. If you guys meet again at another time, I'll join that.

I'm quite likely down for either day!

OK Friday night it is! I'll propose starting at 6. Please let me know when you plan to arrive. (If you're all arriving later, obviously I'll change the start time.)

Looking forward to it!

I will try and come. I don't think I have plans.

Believe it or not, I will be in town. I will try to come to this.

I messed up the date when confirming the event. It was supposed to be this Friday, 27 January. Now fixed. Thanks to ricochet biscuit for politely pointing this out in a MeMail.

Also I feel like an asshole for only noticing this after jessamyn's comment. I hope we can have another meetup while you're here?

Bah! Yeah I am in town Monday through Sunday more or less and done working on Wednesday, so let's think about doing a thing.

Yes! I'm up for another meetup while you're here - maybe next weekend (Saturday the 4th maybe)?

I'm just starting to get over the worst chest cold so I can't this Friday, but next week should be good.

Would be totally up for something next week as well. The 4th sounds good to me.

As for this Friday, we're in.

Glad to see folks can make it for tomorrow (and I am in for another meetup next week).

I have a game I will bring along tomorrow called Bring Your Own Book which I have been enjoying a lot lately. Anybody who is up for it, please, well... bring along a book. You will get it back unharmed at the end, I promise.

I like that...it reminds me of a party game I was introduced to where the host handed out random selections of books from the bookshelf and people would have to read a paragraph or two selected by a random page flip, then turn to the person next to them, who would then randomly flip to a page and read the first paragraph or two they came across, then pass on the turn so on and so forth around the circle.*

* If Naked Lunch, a Harlequin romance novel, and some dry academic textbook were in the mix somewhere it worked very well.

Indeed. One of the mechanics I like about the game is that the books do change hands, so my first game I passed along a Bill Bryson travel book and was then obliged to work from Phil Collins' autobiography.

One game I played, one of the prompts was "a message in a bottle." At that point I was stuck with Mickey Spillane's Kiss Me Deadly, so my submission was the fortuitous "I don't need help."

Well, that's a relief. I admire that level of resourcefulness.

I plan to be there - maybe a bit late - for what I'm pretty sure is my second Mefi IRL ever.

May be arriving a little later (closer to 7:00) - Mr. C. will be getting back into town a little later than expected.

I'm about halfway through writing an article I have to file, so I'll be a little late, maybe an hour, but I'm still coming!!

Well in case ricochet biscuit is coming at 6 I am going to head over there now. Looking forward to seeing the rest of you later!
