PDX August Game Day

Sun August 16 at 1:00 PM, Sibrax's House
13807 Southeast 28th Street, Vancouver, WA, USA (Map & Directions)
Time for our semi-regularly scheduled day of board games! Join us!
If you'd like to bring your own game or beverage or snack, that's great, but not required. As usual, we'll figure out food when we have a more definite head count. New people are always welcome!

New games since last time: Spyfall, Witness, and Welcome to the Dungeon. Also, while not technically a board game, Rocket League will be available, too.

I am interested in playing games! I kickstartered Jux and it is supposed to be shipping soon. maybe in time for a meetup.

I'm free most weekends in August (except the 8th/9th and 22nd/23rd.)

Cool! Anybody else have a date preference?

Ok, how about... Sunday August 16th, at say, 1pm?

August weekends are pretty crazy for us, but if I can make it up I will do so.

Hello Portland-area board game people! I don't think I know any of you, I've only been to a couple of meetups and not for a long time. I was thinking of maybe doing this one, or really any Portland meetup since I'd like to get more involved in the community, but Vancouver's kind of hard for me to get to so maybe I'll wait for the next meetup out here in SE.

In the meantime though, I have a lonely board game that could use somebody to play it, if anyone is interested. It's called Robots on the Line (bgg review here) and while it looks fun and interesting, I'm honestly I'm not sure why I have it. I was a kickstarter supporter (like vestabelle and Jux, I guess there's a lot of this going around) and so they sent me a copy and a bunch of cool magnets and stuff, but I must have been drunk or something the night I decided to fund it because I didn't and don't actually have any friends in town who play board games. Not sure what I was thinking. So it's just sitting here unloved, and there are few things sadder than a never-played-and-never-likely-to-be-played board game, so if any of you would be interested in it, just let me know. Only condition is you'd have to come pick it up (in the Belmont/Laurelhurst area). Let me know!

Hello! It looks like most people are still on the fence, but maybe you could catch a ride with someone else? I'd hate for anyone to miss out on game day, especially if they have unplayed games in their collection.

I can give you a ride! Laurelhurst is on my way.

Thanks for the offer of a ride Tsuga, much appreciated. As of now it's not really looking like I can make it on Sunday, though, it looks like I'll be working through the weekend, so... raincheck, maybe?

Still -- if you or anyone else would like to pick up this game and give it a shot, you're more than welcome to. I work from home so I can just take a break whenever you're passing this way and run it out to you.

Game day tomorrow! We will have snacks and beverages, but if you're looking for something more substantial (i.e. lunch) you may want to eat beforehand or bring something with you. See you all then!
