*EDIT* I changed the meetup time to 2:30 since that's when we'll be meeting, but you should still buy tickets for 3:00!
The Space Shuttle Endeavor has just come to LA, and I'd love to get acquainted with it along with some fellow MeFites.
There's a $2 ticket fee, you should buy your tickets for the
3:00 show here http://www.californiasciencecenter.org/ (we're meeting at 2:30 to organize ourselves before going in)

Hey Los Angeles -
CicLAvia is happening again this Sunday! In the past we've met to play foursquare, get coffee/lunch/wevs, and ride the course together. This time let's meet for breakfast at 9am before the course opens, then ride our bikes down to MacArthur Park for the festivities!

Does anyone want to come to my place, make some food, have some drinks, goof around in the home recording studio, and then post the results to MeFiMusic? We live in a small house in Montrose but have a nice shady backyard and deck and a good kitchen. The best time and day for me would be tomorrow (8/4) or Sunday (8/5) - ideally in the late afternoon or evening.

dobbs is in town through July and I don't think we should let him leave till we've feted him at Farmers Market! How about one evening next week? (per dobbs, Tuesday the 17th doesn't work, but the rest of the week is up for discussion.)

A bunch of us from San Francisco are heading down to your neck of the woods for a quick roadtrip. We have set aside Saturday afternoon (June 9) free to get to know the fine Mefites of Los Angeles. Do you guys brunch? Or have an even better idea for us? We'd love to meet up.

Hola LA MeFi,
We're meeting up
Bigfoot West on Thursday, April 5th. They have a happy hour between 7 and 9, so we're gonna start the meet somewhere in there and keep going if we prove to be interesting enough company. I'll probably pop in around 8/8:30 and I have this bright pink sweatshirt that has inadvertently become my trademark and you can find me that way.
There's a kind of corner booth in the back right that tends to empty-ish even when busy, so it might make sense to try and say Hi there.
Any Q's, just send me a MeMail!

So, I've found
the best barbacoa tacos, ever. With three kinds of salsa. And
chia lemonade. In a pop-up street market in DTLA. Let's have lunch this Saturday at 1PM.

Hey folks, as mentioned in
this post, I'll be in Los Angeles, arriving on the 22nd and departing on the 25th, with a chance of extending the trip for a day or two.
Update: Barndsall Park, Sunday 10/23 @ 4:30pm. BE THERE. I'll arrange for picnic stuff. I think. Depends on how many people show up. I'll be MeMailing folks with my contact #, etc., soon.

I'm coming into town before MaxFunCon and I'd like to meetup with some L.A. MeFites on Thursday, June 9, 2011. I'm staying at a
hotel on Fairfax near the Farmer's Market, but I'm willing to drive if the destination doesn't require me to navigate tiny streets and hunt for parking (I'm a country-boy at heart.)
Confirmed! Meetup at 7pm at
Loteria Grill at Farmers Market.

You know the film: Laurel and Hardy doing their damnedest to schlep a piano on a long set of public stairs. Perhaps you already know it was filmed in Silver Lake. Here's your chance to watch it steps away from the actual filming location! Totally free!

Are you a fan of public stairways and urban hikes? Interested in the history of the city?
The Big Parade is a two-day walk through Los Angeles that will start in downtown, at the famous Angel's Flight Stairway, and finish at the Hollywood Sign above Beachwood Canyon. Day One ends - and Day Two begins - at the famous music Music Box Stairs - site of the Oscar-winning Laurel & Hardy film of the same name - in Silverlake. It will take place May 21 and 22, 2011.
There’s also going to be a prologue on Friday, May 20, led by Bob Inman, covering the stairways between Eagle Rock and downtown.

With as many native upper midwesterners that have emigrated to Los Angeles, there should be a lot more Euchre played around these parts. But, there's not. And we need to fix that. And if you don't know how to play, and are curious how under certain circumstances the Jack of Clubs is actually a Spade, and vice versa (well, quad-versa when considering the red cards), read on. You'll love spending time in the barn.

This is a crazy idea and it may not work, but would anyone be interested in a chill paced/all levels bike ride along the newly paved/open
LA River path in Elysian Valley followed by some tasty cheap vegetarian indian food in Atwater Village?

I'm going into the hospital on Aug. 30 and will be out of commission for awhile, so would love to get together at
Farmers Market after work with my Mefi peeps (or, as my boyfriend refers to you, "my imaginary friends from the ChattyWeb") before then.

Hey Los Angeles, wanna do a home made ice cream swap? I am inspired by/totally jealous of the
Brooklyn one. I've been making my fair share of ice cream-like things (mostly gelatos and sorbets), perhaps you have as well? Or want a reason to give it a try?
Location:
Barnsdall Park
Ice cream+lovely views of the city!
Bring: two pints of frozen deliciousness to swap and at least 1 pint extra to share in the park
If you want to come and don't plan on making ice cream then bring something to go with with ice cream.
I will bring a picnic blanket, spoons, napkins and cups.
