We've been traveling around the world working to meet MeFites wherever we go. Anyone want to play some games with us this Monday and tell us the things we must not miss while we're here? [more inside]
Labor Day Weekend is fast approaching in Atlanta which means time again for Nerdi Gras, or as it's more properly known, DragonCon! A general "everything" fandom convention run mainly on volunteer labor, in contrast to conventions that are driven by the marketing departments of major mass media outlets, it's 5 days of fun spread across several city-block sized convention hotels. Going by past year's IRL posts, there's usually roughly a dozen or so MeFites on average who on any given year. That's out of a crowd of 80,000+ attendees, so chances are we'll never run into each other. But the central host hotel also was once The Capitol District's Tribute Training Center a few years ago, so May The Odds Be Ever In Your Favor. [more inside]
Okay, Victory Point Cafe in Berkeley, August 4th sounds good. [more inside]

A second installment of game nights at my house near the Ashby BART station. If you're interested, come aboard and check it out! I have a core group of gamers, some of whom I've known since High School, but you are also welcome to come! This isn't a meetup, though - the gathering will be about gaming. [more inside]
My core group of gamers is sort of flagging, and we would like to bolster it with new members, if anyone's interested. This is for board and card gaming in specific. If you're interested and it seems like a good idea for you to come, it probably is! This isn't a meetup, though - the gathering will be about gaming. The location is about 1 1/2 blocks from Ashby BART. [more inside]

I posted awhile ago about my impressive olive collection, and lollusc suggested that I should leverage them into martinis. So, who wants to come to my place and eat some olives and drink some martinis? [more inside]
I'm not married to this event, but it does sound fun! This happens at the Windup Space once a month. I haven't played many board games but I know it's a popular thing to do around MeFi. I haven't seen any Baltimore meetups since I've been here, so figured why not! [more inside]

As we do every other weekend, let's meet at the Blue Shirt Cafe in Davis Square at 2:00 to play board games. This time, let's meet on Saturday, May 13th, rather than Sunday the 14th, since that Sunday is Mother's Day. As always, bring any games you'd like and make requests in the thread. [more inside]
The weather has improved. Daylight Savings has pushed sunset to a later, less depressing hour. It's the perfect time to sit indoors and squint at each other. Let's play board games at the Blue Shirt Cafe at 2:00 on Sunday, April 30th. Bring any games you like. If you'd like to play a game you don't own, request it here. [more inside]

Sunday, February 5th Sunday, February 12th Sunday, February 19th!The last meetup went really well and the venue is excellent. That said, this is flexible, so if people EDIT: or Nature Herself would strongly prefer a different time, date, or venue, I'm willing to change it. [more inside]
We're coming up on that national tradition known as Super Bowl Sunday. In the past we've gotten together to play games rather than watch the game, but there was always something missing which prevented us from achieving the full on ignore experience: the actual football game in the background being completely ignored. [more inside]
Pittsburghers, I miss you guys! I know a place where we can meet and beanplate together where the music is not too loud and the free street parking is plentiful, J. Gough's in Greenfield. Would anyone want to get together on the 28th?
Join us for board games and snacks at our place in Beaverton! [more inside]
The last time we met to play board games went well. Let's ring in the new year with a session at the Blue Shirt Cafe on Sunday, January 22nd, from 2:00 to whenever we want to leave. People can bring their own games of whatever genre and difficulty they like. If people would prefer to meet at a different time or date, I'm sure we can work something out. [more inside]
After our successful first-ever Brighton meetup, it would be great to have another one and hopefully get a few more folk along too. I thought it would be fun to spend an evening at Alcampo's Lounge (or somewhere equally amenable to games) and play a few lightweight boardgames (I have a few easy-to-learn ones and others are welcome to bring more along). [more inside]
It's been a while since we had a board game meetup in this area, so let's see whether there's interest in a new one. One of us could host it, or we could meet at a restaurant such as the Blue Shirt Cafe on Davis Square or a conveniently large Panera Bread like the one near Fenway Park. Based on past meetups, Knight Moves seems to have been a bust. A weekend, which would allow for the most play time, would probably be best. When and where sounds best to you all? EDIT:Let's meet at the Blue Shirt Cafe on Davis Square at 2:00 on Sunday, October 30th! Feel free to bring any game or games you'd like to play.
As usual, it's taken me forever to get another proposed event together because I am terrible with numbers, and events, and time. But! With the season of the witch nearly upon us, what better time to try a thematic board game meetup? [more inside]
Did you know that Beaverton has an Interactive Museum of Gaming and Puzzlery? They are having a 24 hour fundraiser starting at noon on Saturday, September 17th. [more inside]
A timely followup thread, for once! Who's up for some more board games in mid- to late June? [more inside]
It's been a while, hasn't it? It is, allegedly, spring, the weather will hopefully be pleasant at some point, and if all else fails, Frankford Hall will at least have lemonade shandies. [more inside]
Let's make this a regular thing! [more inside]
Hey Mefites, let's go play games of skill, luck, and cunning! [more inside]
Anyone feel like getting together to play board games somewhere in the Boston area? I'm open to any venue people can think of, as long as it's fairly convenient for everyone. EDIT: We'll play board games at cogitron's house at 7:00 PM on Saturday the 26th. Feel free to bring whatever games you'd like. If you'd like to come, just MeMail cogitron for the address. The address listed here is not the actual address for the meetup.
Come hang out with ocherdraco at 4th Avenue Pub on March 20th! She will be in town for the day and would love to see some Mefites. I can also bring some board games if there's any interest. [more inside]
It occurred to me tonight that it has been nearly 5 years since our very first game meetup. [more inside]
Hey all. I know there aren't many of us here in snowy Utah, but I thought it might be nice to have a board game night. It could be potluck style or we could get dinner or order in. I'm open to any ideas, as long as drinking and games are involved I'm in. I can host, I have a pretty big living area, a nice dog, and a ton of games, or maybe someone more central located might want to volunteer. Who's in?
It's been far too long since the last Philly Metafilter board game meetup! Let's fix that. [more inside]
I will be hosting a Games Day in my home on Wednesday, November 11th. This is Veteran's Day and is a holiday for federal workers. Start time is 11 AM, but people come and leave as they please, and since we tend to play shorter games it's easy to work in if you come after the start time. [more inside]
The first meetup went well, so let's meet again at Knight Moves on Saturday the 26th at 6:00! [more inside]
Labor Day weekend is almost upon us again, and that means DragonCon in Atlanta. (Please don't call it Dragon*Con, they had their *-hole removed two years ago at no small expense.) Even though an actual organized MeFi meetup is not likely to survive everyone's various convention plans, we can at least use this thread to talk about those plans. NOTE: like last year, the time and place listed are for the registration line, the event itself lasts Thursday-Monday, and is spread across 5 high-rise hotels and a nearby convention center. [more inside]
Would anyone like to meet at Knight Moves in Brookline to play board games? It bills itself as New England's only board game cafe and has a wide selection of games to play. I'm fairly sure it allows customers to bring their own games as well. There's a cover charge of $10 Thursday through Sunday and $5 Monday through Wednesday. What times and dates would work for people? UPDATE: Come to Knight Moves near Coolidge Corner on August 29th at 6:00 PM to play some board games! [more inside]
Time for our semi-regularly scheduled day of board games! Join us! [more inside]
It's been a while since we've gotten together to play some games, so let's meet up! [more inside]
So hey, it's been a while since we did this, hasn't it? How does June or early July look for interested Philly meeples? [more inside]
