Brighton Boardgame Evening

After our successful first-ever Brighton meetup, it would be great to have another one and hopefully get a few more folk along too. I thought it would be fun to spend an evening at Alcampo's Lounge (or somewhere equally amenable to games) and play a few lightweight boardgames (I have a few easy-to-learn ones and others are welcome to bring more along).
Date: Tuesday 22nd Nov
Time: 6pm worked last time - but if people can't all get there that early, they can always turn up a bit later and still join in.
Venue: I suggested Alcampo's since they have plenty of tables, serve drinks/food/coffee and it's quiet enough to hold a conversation. There's also some comfy sofas that we can nab if they're free. If you have suggestions for similar venues feel free to put them forward.
Boardgame-wise, I'm thinking mostly lightweight card-based games like Love Letter, Dixit, and Funemployed!, and silly how-fast-can-you-do-this-thing games like Ring-L-Ding and Geistesblitz. If we get enough people (4+) we can play Codenames.

I'm definitely into this idea, even though I would be coming as a board game novice. I'm especially interested in the card games actually.
The dates, time and location are all good by me. I'd have a preference for a non-Friday weekday, just in the hopes that those evenings would be quieter, but the last Friday we were at Alcampo seemed fine.

Aha! My work hours are in flux for the near future, but you said (one of) the magic word(s) "boardgames". I'll definitely try to make the 11th although it's hard to be certain of my availability until closer to the day. Like you say it would be cool to include more people too!

Hrm! Looks like no way I can make the 11th, but I have zero information about my availability for the 18th except a vague suspicion the same will apply. Will let you know if anything changes last-minute, if only because the only thing better than winning a new game is losing hilariously badly at it. FWIW, if there's the least impetus to have (semi-)regular meetups in future that would be super-awesome and something I'm totally invested in.

Tuesday 15th is easily the most likely for me if others interested (work is currently playing silly beggars, so still can't swear 100%). All Weds and Thurs are right out from here on in. Mon 14th is maybe, I'd be there @bout 7pm and sweaty with it!

Things are a bit in the air for me right now due to family stuff. If we can plan short notice I may be able to make Monday or Tuesday. I'll hopefully know more by the end of tomorrow.

Yeah, I can't do Monday at all now. If Tuesday works for enough people that's great and I'll be there, else always happy to roll up whenever I can. Seconding EOI's "No worries" if not ClarissaWAM, we've all got other stuff.

Sounding like a stuck record here sorry, but looks like that day's a full-on Southern Rail strike. That potentially transforms the intended fun catch-up/SRS BSNS game-larks into a big, stupid, stressy nuisance on my one day off. So annoying! I'll play it by ear, because events, but in the meantime call me [a] maybe.
FWIW Tuesday's still the "best" day for me too, strikes apart!

It would be awesome to have a semi-regular games evening. People mentioned Tuesdays as generally being good, but obviously we can change it up if necessary. I probably can't do anything until the new year.
