Majestic San Antonio, November 9
Since I am going to be in town for several days for a conference, and since one of the AskMe recommended things to do downtown is go to the Majestic Theatre, I have tickets for the symphony on Saturday, November 9. Would anybody be interested in getting together for dinner downtown around 6-ish? Since y'all know the area and I don't, I'm open to suggestions for your favorite places downtown (I will not have a vehicle).

Dim Sum - Manhattan redux edition
Have we not had an NYC dim sum meetup since February 2012?! This shall not stand. Chinatown's The Golden Unicorn has been conducive to good meetups before, but, would people like to try Pacificana in Brooklyn's Chinatown for a change? I went there once with family and thought the dim sum was more varied than Golden Unicorn's, but the wait time for a table can be long. -- EDIT - Manhattan wins this round, for Saturday 11/9 at 11am.

Washington DC is open again!
I'm going to be in DC on Friday November 1 for a meeting (which just got finally confirmed, even though everyone in the department I contract for has been furloughed recently and so it hasn't had any organizers...) and I'll be staying overnight. Con-goers and non-goers can meet and bask in the crumbling vistas of Providence like a pack of wonder-loving grandmothers at the Trinity Brewhouse. It's just after the end of the con, and people should enjoy some of the fine beers before heading to their ancestral homes.
