I had so much fun meeting you all last time I was in the Bay Area, I want to do it again! I'll be back in your neck of the woods the week of May 6. But possibly only available weekdays. SF, Sacramento, or Davis weeknight meetup, with food and/or beverages?

October meetup for those that are interested in meeting up for drinks and possibly something to eat.
Suggesting mid-week meetup so those that work downtown can attend, although if there is a consensus for the weekend, we could meet Oct 12th/13th.
Lizbunny suggested the
Unicorn on Stephen Avenue (
map). Beer selection there is good and they usually run specials, food is standard pub fare.

I know several of us grow vegetable gardens. Is there any interest in an autumnal harvest-themed food meetup? Not sure what the best month would be; wouldn't necessarily have to be at the very end of autumn. Take some foodstuffs you've grown and either bring it raw or as (part of) a dish of some kind.

Back in the earthquake thread I made an
offer to buy drinks for the folks in Tokyo. That trip got cancelled, but I'll be back over the weekend of April 14th.

Update: Tuesday's trivia is on at the
Cruzroom, but we are still trying to find the best "everyone can make it" night / location.
My friend is behind
ShanRock's Triviology and I just had a chance to compete last night at the Cruzroom off Alberta. Which has led me to the conclusion that we might want to try and put together our own Trivia team (or Teams) and compete. Would be a good excuse for a weekly outing.

The original "
Let's Walk Broadway" meetup has been postponed until more reasonable temperatures return. But there's a nifty little street carnival happening in my neighborhood that was along the original route. We should check it out!

I am helping organize Sacramento's first Mobile Food Festival. We're trying to change a few holdouts on the city council regarding the utility of such businesses - i.e., mobile food trucks and carts - and to overturn the current regulations which pretty much outlaw them inside city limits. We'll have over two dozen vendors, from taco trucks to vegan food and gourmet middle-eastern fare. If you're in Northern California, please do consider attending; even if you're from out of the area, we'd love your help spreading the word, and you can use this short url – bit.ly/sactomofo – to tell folks about us.

Ahoy, y'all! I'm participating in a
cookie-making contest on December 19th, at 6PM at
The Bell House in Brooklyn. It's 15 bucks per ticket, and each attendee can sample cookies from 30 different amateur bakers. I cannot guarantee that my cookies will win, but I can guarantee that they will be delicious.
Buy tickets here.
Bulleit Bourbon will also be serving free bourbon-spiked egg nog from 6 to 7!

On the last Sunday of each month, LAVA welcomes interested individuals to gather on the third floor of the historic Clifton's Cafeteria in Downtown Los Angeles (noon-2pm), for a loosely structured conversational Salon featuring short presentations and opportunities to meet and connect with one another. If you're interested in joining LAVA as a creative contributor or an attendee, we recommend Salon attendance as an introduction to this growing community. We also recommend the shortbread.

I'll be in a
cookoff on Saturday at the
Chile Pepper Fiesta, held in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Tickets (for the entire day, not just for my cookoff thing) are fifteen bucks (or ten if you're a student or senior). I'm making savory little beefy things, and they will be delicious! Also beer will be there, and I will be drinking that beer, you betcha. And music! And demonstrations! And a tattoo parlor!
