I think we should have a meetup because it feels like it's been a while. I propose we meet at Mi Rancho in Silver Spring because it has an outside space, it's nearish the Metro, and restaurants with margaritas are good for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. [more inside]
I'm planning to start protesting outside the White House on my lunch break (which I suppose I will have to start taking). Although this event only specifies February 8th, I'm hoping to go almost every day this week and next. [more inside]
Relaxed, end-of-week-meetup where west coast Mefite meets east coast Mefites. [more inside]
I know there are a bunch of expectant MeFi parents in the DC area (and maybe some recent parents?) so I thought it would be nice if we could have a meetup to keep ourselves sane(ish) and get a chance to check in with other intelligent, thoughtful adults going through the same thing. Everyone who wants to come is welcome, just know that the conversation might center around, like, babies and whatnot. I expect this to be this Saturday afternoon, April 16th. [more inside]
Hello fellow Mefites! I will be in your neck of the woods over Thanksgiving break and would like to gather for fun and/or festivities of sorts [more inside]

It all started with an AskMe two years ago. For the third year running, we'll be building and operating a crazy-ass parade float on the trolley tracks during the H St. Festival. [more inside]
Eastern Washington/Palouse meetup! The Dozier-Jarvis Trio is playing live jazz (Oscar Peterson style) at the charming Rico's Pub on Sat April 20th. The Meetup is starting around 7:30. There is pub food available. The band starts around 10:00. It's cool. It's comfy. It's a jazzy Inland Northwest Meetup in a nice old pub!
Some MeFites were together last night and decided it was time to call a meetup on the east side of town, in particular at Tunnicliff's, which is relatively spacious, quiet, and near the metro. MrMoonPie suggested we meet around inauguration time. Perhaps a weeknight the week prior? The inauguration is on Monday, January 21.
Some DC MetaFilter folks who met last year via this AskMe aim to field a second human-powered trolley car parade float deal at the H Street Festival. Some details and pics from last year at atlasarmadadc.com [more inside]
My new wave power-pop band is losing our co-frontman to employment on the other side of the country - this just as we managed to get a gig at the Black Cat, one of DC's finest. We're not going out quietly, with garage gods the Hall Monitors and Jake Starr and the Delicious Fullness rounding out the bill. [more inside]
Come and enjoy the H Street Festival: as a special bonus, a largely MeFite-built, human-powered, trolley-track riding art float will debut! [more inside]
The Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival is this weekend! It's right around the corner from my house, so I'll be there at some point. If you're going, let me know, and maybe we can be there at the same time.
Hello Seattle MeFites! I will be in your lovely city for a conference and was hoping I could meet you for drinks, etc. on the evening of Saturday April 30th? [more inside]
Hi all. We moved to DC at the beginning of December and although I've already met a few of the area's fine MeFites, I'd like to meet more. My own special snowflakeness: I have a toddler and my significant other comes home late, so weekends are best. Otherwise, what works for others?
A pal of mine is in the Silver Spring Stage production of Noel Coward's Private Lives and nearly guarantees a good time to any attendee. Cutting British wit, that sort of thing. It's at 8. Wanna grab beverages/food before &/or after? Update: My pal says, "For pregaming, there's a Mexican place also across the street that is ideal - Fajita Coast." So I hereby propose that we meet there at 7pm. I shall be there with a book in any case. [more inside]
Oct. 30, the Stewart/Colbert rallies. I know we can expect a lot of us there and with signs. So here's the organizing thread. [more inside]
I'm playing guitar, bass, and a bit of keys with hello, babies at the Velvet Lounge in DC. This band is overwhelmingly great. [more inside]
