Cocktails, conversation and (optional) cultural outing with Charleston visitor?

I'll be in town for a conference and would like to reacquaint myself with Charleston. Being a gin fan, I absolutely must try The Gin Joint. We could meet for cocktails and either have dinner there or another spot within walking distance. If anyone wants to meet earlier in the day I'm also interested in checking out more of the town, perhaps taking in an exhibit or event.
I used to live in SC and remember taking day trips to Charleston: horse-drawn carriage tours, walking around the Battery, eating butter-pecan ice cream. It's been a while and I'm no longer a teenager so I'm sure much has changed and there's plenty to explore.
I have most of Sunday to hang out and futz around, so if anyone has extra time and wants to take a stroll downtown, check out an exhibit, attend a concert or play or otherwise enjoy the local culture I'm open to suggestions.
