The Recurrent Seattle Tuesday Trivia Meetup
Tuesday trivia at the George and Dragon.
Tuesday trivia in Seattle.
Would anyone like to take a walk in a Pokmon-rich environment? Lincoln Park has water and beach and consistently has interesting water, fire, and psychic types. Let's meet at the log benches about halfway down the north parking lot (can walk from the C line bus stop at Rose St. into the park and a tad north on the trail next to the parking lot). Pub quiz at the George and Dragon, as so often before.
Surely one second-place week only brings us more rebarbatively to the fray? I'll be there if anyone else will.

My husband and I will be staying in the North Beacon Hill area for a few days on our way home from our trip to Alaska and have never been to Seattle before. Would anyone be interested in a meetup? We're totally open to suggestions! August 11 or 12 would probably be the best since we aren't traveling those days, though brunch on Saturday could also be an option.
Trivia night. Again. [more inside]
Join us in our continued domination of the weekly George & Dragon Pub Quiz, which apparently is made up nearly entirely of MeFites, anyway.
We have retreated like the gathering wave: next week let us fall on our foes and smother them in foamy facts.
In which we get too cocky, beanplate our answers, and lose by a furlong. JK JK LOL we'll win again.
In this next installment, we resolve to no longer talk ourselves out of correct answers.
Join us for episode five, in which MetaFilter continues its dominance of the G&D pub quiz scene.
In which we avenge last week's loss. [more inside]

My sister Tess Martin (MeFi's own) is launching her new non-profit arts booster organization this Friday: Haptic Animation Amplifier. She's curated a Pacific Northwest Animation Showcase at the NorthWest Film Forum on Capitol Hill this week, and on Friday the animation fun will culminate with her launch party at 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public and will feature fun animation stations for adults to get their artistic and silly groove on. Libations available. [more inside]
Seattle! I am in town for a glorious 36 hours next week and would love to meet some local Seattle MeFites and grab some drinks. 7 PM on Friday, September 18th at The Pinebox on Melrose Ave. Come hang out!
The End Of All Things (not the Big One) comes to Seattle and jscalzi will be reading from his latest book at the Central library.
So, we're going to be in Seattle for the Rush show on Sunday July 19. Thought it might be nice to meet a few Seattle MeFites before the show. So, let's meet at the 5-Points Cafe at 4pm on Sunday July 19 for hangout and chat and dinner and drinks before the show! It's not a fancy place, but it's fun and relaxing and is walking distance from both our hotel and Key Arena. We'd love to connect with Seattle MeFites!

I have beers aging & beers from Oregon, I'm hoping that there's people in the area of a similar mindset on here. If so, we should meet up for a bottle share. [more inside]
Sorry for the last-minute notice -- Salamandrous is visiting and we are going to meet up for happy hour downtown on Monday. Join us!
A client and friend of mine has a documentary premiere in STIFF (Seattle's True Independent Film Festival or Seattle's Transmedia and Independent Film Festival) on May 7 at Grand Illusion Cinema. The film is 'Witness Bahrain', about the Arab Spring. I'll be there and the director, Jen Marlowe, will be there for Q&A after the film. Would love for mefites to join us. Link to buy tickets. This will be my first time in Seattle, and I'm considering a move there, and I only know about 3 (albeit awesome) people there. My preference is for the evening/happy hour of Thursday March 19 but I could do any evening except Saturday the 21st, if there's another day that works well for more people. [more inside]
I am taking a long trip down the west coast before nursing school eats me alive and locks me in Philly for a year. First stop: Seattle, from April 14th-20th! I would love to meet any and all local mefites, but I've never been here and know nothing. Hope Me! Edit: Dinner at Marination Ma Kai on the 16th at 7 it is! Hope to see many of you there! [more inside]
Damn it, Christmas. Always stealing my thunder. Let's have dinner + sauce as you want it on my birthday, 12/26. I'd love to meet some mefites too! We're eating at the wonderful Kingfish Cafe in North Capitol Hill with reservations at 8pm. Afterwards, we'll go to the Unicorn, The Hideout or Rockbox Karaoke (whichever is least crowded). I look forward to seeing whoever can come on this little notice and around this stupid holiday -- and to getting a more solid group of Seattle meetup people in general! (Please no "maybe" answers - I will need to change the reservation.) There will be cake.
I'm planning on moving to the area next Spring, and this is my research trip. I've wanted to do this since 1977, so it's long overdue, and I'm ridiculously excited. I'd love to have a meetup! I'll be there Wednesday afternoon and I'm leaving early Tuesday morning. (Crossposting to Seattle, also.) [more inside]

Me and my beloved wife are going to be arriving in Seattle, Washington very soon before heading to Alaska on a cruise. We would love to meet the Seattle MeFi contingent on Sunday, August 10th. You all know what I like. We'll be staying by the airport, but we're willing to venture out.
hellojed's grandfather just passed away, and he would like to have drinks tonight before he flies home tomorrow. [more inside]
It's summer. We've gone to Ivar's Salmon House each of the last two summers. They have a deck. We're doing it again, on Sunday, July 13 at 3pm. According to the cheerful Ivar's receptionist I just spoke to, 3pm is a pretty safe bet for a table on the deck outside. Reservations have been made, see you Sunday.
We have not had a drinks/n/hollering seattle meetup in sometime and I would like to correct this. Preferably in the Month of May. [more inside]
I'd like to have a picnic at Roxhill Park and hang out while kids play on the (exciting, new) playground. (There's also a skatepark, a large field, and a marsh walk.) Who wants to come hang out on a non-pouring-rain Saturday afternoon? (There's only a 10% chance of rain next Saturday, at least right now, so maybe then?) Update: let's meet at noon on Saturday, 3 May. I'll still be there if there's light rain.
scblackman and I are going to meet for coffee before the Slate Live Book Club event for Slaughterhouse Five, somewhere near the event venue, Town Hall in downtown Seattle. Join us! [more inside]
I am passing through Seattle the weekend after next, and, although it seems like Seattle has been unusually blessed with meetups in the last month, was wondering if anyone fancied meeting up for a nosh/drink on the evening of Saturday 8? [more inside]

Imperial Lanes on Rainier Avenue will be open and near empty on Christmas, and, for that matter, New Year's Day. I and some friends will be there on both days. We had a blast at the last bowling meetup we had. All of you at loose ends this Chistmas evening are welcome to join us. And ditto for New Year's Day, as well...
I'm moving to Toronto in just a couple of days! Unfortunately I don't have enough nights left for a dedicated MeFi meetup night but I'm going to try to get together all my friends at Hale's Ales for some local beers. I hope my MeFi friends can make it too! WARNING: you may have to interact with non-MeFites. People might not know who Matt Haughey or Jessamyn are.
It's that time of year when souls decent upon the soggy bottoms of Seattle for the annual Penny Arcade Exposition and Stuff. Will there be a meetup? If "yes" turn to page 20. If "no" turn to page 39 [more inside]

I'd like to run with someone who won't mind that I am running a 16 minute mile. Let's meet up in a couple of weekends at Alki for a run with our progeny.
Okay - let me preface this by saying that I don't really want to be the center of attention. But dammit, after spending 6 months in Moscow, Idaho (long story) I demand a meetup upon my return to Seattle. [more inside]
