Pub quiz! Tomorrow! We know we can, do we think we should?
At the George and Dragon, this Tuesday. Lurkers, we're -- mm -- not so bad, mostly.

I'm back in town on the 12th. Seattle meetup?
Hello Seattle! This is my first visit but I don't really know the area at all. I will be in town Aug 30th-Sept 4th and I'd love to meet some other MeFis, maybe whilst drinking some good beers or eating some good (vegetarian friendly) food in the process. Edit: after some discussion I had chosen Highline, but they added a show to their calendar on Sat 9/2 so that option is out. Let's meet up instead at The Stumbling Monk for some board games and beers at 8pm. I am also going to check out Plum Vegan Bistro before for dinner then walk over if anyone would like to join! (1429 12th Ave at 6:30ish).
Pub quiz at the George and Dragon, low key, reasonably funny, onion rings. Regulars? Lurkers? Comeback tours? All welcome.

Pub quiz night at the George and Dragon. Sometimes we win. Sometimes we think we're really funny. Come if you haven't been, come if you're a lurker, come if you're a regular.
The George and Dragon has a guest trivia presenter this week, apparently. Let's see if we can repeat our 38-point showing from last week.
Pub quiz night tonight? Short notice, drippy weather, but it's been weeeeeeks. Two, that's plural. [more inside]
After an honestly mixed showing last week, it's time for the crew to ride again. Tuesday, George & Dragon, 7:45-8:00, Trivia!

New year, new facts, old game: who's up for the pub trivia night at the George and Dragon?
I will devote one day this weekend to sewing pussyhats and thought I'd see if anyone wanted to join! I don't know how to knit or crochet, but yarn-folk are definitely welcome. [more inside]
Back at it again at The George and Dragon. Our last two weeks were wins so we're going for the hat trick! [more inside]
We return crown'd with laurels
The Recurrent Seattle Tuesday Trivia Meetup
Tuesday trivia at the George and Dragon.
Tuesday trivia in Seattle.
Would anyone like to take a walk in a Pokmon-rich environment? Lincoln Park has water and beach and consistently has interesting water, fire, and psychic types. Let's meet at the log benches about halfway down the north parking lot (can walk from the C line bus stop at Rose St. into the park and a tad north on the trail next to the parking lot). [more inside]
Pub quiz at the George and Dragon, as so often before.
Surely one second-place week only brings us more rebarbatively to the fray? I'll be there if anyone else will.

My husband and I will be staying in the North Beacon Hill area for a few days on our way home from our trip to Alaska and have never been to Seattle before. Would anyone be interested in a meetup? We're totally open to suggestions! August 11 or 12 would probably be the best since we aren't traveling those days, though brunch on Saturday could also be an option.
Trivia night. Again. [more inside]
Join us in our continued domination of the weekly George & Dragon Pub Quiz, which apparently is made up nearly entirely of MeFites, anyway.
We have retreated like the gathering wave: next week let us fall on our foes and smother them in foamy facts.
In which we get too cocky, beanplate our answers, and lose by a furlong. JK JK LOL we'll win again.
In this next installment, we resolve to no longer talk ourselves out of correct answers.
Join us for episode five, in which MetaFilter continues its dominance of the G&D pub quiz scene.
In which we avenge last week's loss. [more inside]

My sister Tess Martin (MeFi's own) is launching her new non-profit arts booster organization this Friday: Haptic Animation Amplifier. She's curated a Pacific Northwest Animation Showcase at the NorthWest Film Forum on Capitol Hill this week, and on Friday the animation fun will culminate with her launch party at 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public and will feature fun animation stations for adults to get their artistic and silly groove on. Libations available. [more inside]
Seattle! I am in town for a glorious 36 hours next week and would love to meet some local Seattle MeFites and grab some drinks. 7 PM on Friday, September 18th at The Pinebox on Melrose Ave. Come hang out!
The End Of All Things (not the Big One) comes to Seattle and jscalzi will be reading from his latest book at the Central library.
So, we're going to be in Seattle for the Rush show on Sunday July 19. Thought it might be nice to meet a few Seattle MeFites before the show. So, let's meet at the 5-Points Cafe at 4pm on Sunday July 19 for hangout and chat and dinner and drinks before the show! It's not a fancy place, but it's fun and relaxing and is walking distance from both our hotel and Key Arena. We'd love to connect with Seattle MeFites!

A client and friend of mine has a documentary premiere in STIFF (Seattle's True Independent Film Festival or Seattle's Transmedia and Independent Film Festival) on May 7 at Grand Illusion Cinema. The film is 'Witness Bahrain', about the Arab Spring. I'll be there and the director, Jen Marlowe, will be there for Q&A after the film. Would love for mefites to join us. Link to buy tickets. This will be my first time in Seattle, and I'm considering a move there, and I only know about 3 (albeit awesome) people there. My preference is for the evening/happy hour of Thursday March 19 but I could do any evening except Saturday the 21st, if there's another day that works well for more people. [more inside]
I am taking a long trip down the west coast before nursing school eats me alive and locks me in Philly for a year. First stop: Seattle, from April 14th-20th! I would love to meet any and all local mefites, but I've never been here and know nothing. Hope Me! Edit: Dinner at Marination Ma Kai on the 16th at 7 it is! Hope to see many of you there! [more inside]
Damn it, Christmas. Always stealing my thunder. Let's have dinner + sauce as you want it on my birthday, 12/26. I'd love to meet some mefites too! We're eating at the wonderful Kingfish Cafe in North Capitol Hill with reservations at 8pm. Afterwards, we'll go to the Unicorn, The Hideout or Rockbox Karaoke (whichever is least crowded). I look forward to seeing whoever can come on this little notice and around this stupid holiday -- and to getting a more solid group of Seattle meetup people in general! (Please no "maybe" answers - I will need to change the reservation.) There will be cake.
I'm planning on moving to the area next Spring, and this is my research trip. I've wanted to do this since 1977, so it's long overdue, and I'm ridiculously excited. I'd love to have a meetup! I'll be there Wednesday afternoon and I'm leaving early Tuesday morning. (Crossposting to Seattle, also.) [more inside]
