It's that time of year when souls decent upon the soggy bottoms of Seattle for the annual Penny Arcade Exposition and Stuff. Will there be a meetup? If "yes" turn to page 20. If "no" turn to page 39

Pax weekend will be here soon and if mefites want to get together and jam that would be great.
I'll be in town until the 29th, so if we wanted to have a non-pax Seattle meetup that could also work.
I won't have a car, so options are sorta limited to where I can go. Etc. A lot of my plans are up in the air.

art and I have twitter corresponded with young master jed and this is on in some desultory fashion or other. Art has kids and I am on the road so there's some planning barriers.

I'm in the area (Couple blocks away from PAX, actually), and while I don't have a ticket this year, I'm definitely up for a meetup outside of PAX.
Also, The Protomen are playing a non-PAX show on Monday, which I'll be at, so if I see anyone else there, we can rock out and sing about robot revolution together.

I am sort of up for this but my ability to get away from parenting duties is so variable I'd be happier seeing if I can fit into the plans of others than trying to propose plans and not showing up.

I'll be staying at the Westin Seattle downtown. I get in pretty early tomorrow while I wait for the guy with my room to check in, so I'm gonna be wandering around downtown for a bit.

May I suggest the Six Arms? It's close to the Convention Center, but on the opposite side of the I-5 corridor. The eight-lane freeway creates a psychological barrier that most PAXers won't cross, so it shouldn't be overcrowded.

Clicking around their site, I think they're going for PAX business, though. This weekend they're offering a limited-edition Jedi-themed ale. That bodes ill (and, simultaneously, well.) Hmm. We could do Harry's again. That seemed to go over pretty well back in February. It's right on the #10 bus line, a straight shot from the Convention Center.

No PAX folks will be at speckled and drake if people wanted to go there. They might be brave enough to venture nextdoor to john johns arcade, but drakes should be empty. It's also still pretty damn close.
It's pretty much never packed, and they have a cool upstairs area with a giant table. Six arms is cool, but it's close enough that people can pretty much spot it if they walk east from the convention center at all, and the PAX bar crawls generally make it all the way up to lindas and stuff.
I live and work really close to the convention center, so wherever you guys decide to do this will work for me.

Monday evening is a maybe for me due to travel that day. That said, speckled & drake sounds like a good suggestion - for many years it was a used books and records joint and it is definitely closer to PAX than Harry's.

Also, since Monday is nominally a holiday, is there a possibility of doing it earlier? I guess there are prolly still PAX events daytime, huh?

Would Wednesday work? Tuesday I will be visiting family. Sunday is kinda busy, unless you want to come to the Hard Rock cafe for the Doublefine party.
