Austin meetup May 4 (Saturday)
Dear Austin friends, it has been a long time since I've seen your smiling faces. We're in town for the Rhiannon Giddens concert on Thursday night and have Saturday afternoon open. I don't know where a good meetup place would be, but ideally it would be outdoors with a shaded patio for health reasons. Would love to find a good place and see y'all!
Austin, TX ONLINE mutual aid group planning
Hey, guys. Struck me this morning that it's a good idea for MeFites in town to know where everyone is, what potential needs folks have, and how to help if things get much worse.
I'm setting this one as a proposed meetup in Austin in the hopes of getting emails out to folks in town, but right now I have no intention of meeting in-person--just organizing folks in town so that we can set up a network we can use to help one another and familiarize ourselves with anyone who's local on the site.
Anyway, here's a space. Thoughts?

Austin MeFites: come band together and stand together at city hall this evening as we mobilize to demand protection for the Mueller investigation to hold president Trump and the cronies of his administration accountable for their actions. The forced resignation of Jeff Sessions and the subsequent replacement of Rod Rosenstein by Trumpist stooge Matt Whittaker should not go unanswered. Austin meetup - Late January
Keeping it short and sweet: let's meet at the new Dog and Duck on either Saturday the 23rd, Saturday the 30th, or Sunday the 31st in either the afternoon or early evening. Late September Austin meetup

The good doctor and I will be going to the inaugural F1 race at Austin's Circuit of the Americas, and it would be great to meet up with other motorsports-mad Mefites on or off the track.
