Following up on this MeTa thread about meeting up at SXSW this year in Austin. Proposed date is Saturday, March 10. Proposed location is Dive bar.

It's mostly street parking around there, but there are a couple of lots nearby, including the one in front of Dog & Duck. I'm still waiting to hear back from the bar about which time slots they have available on that day. I'll post here as soon as I hear back.

Dude, this is Texas. We can actually arrange both of those on the same day. Though I've become convinced over the years that the SXSW staff have engaged in some unholy alliance with the weathermen - it's always perfect for the Fest, then goes to hell in a hand basket the next week.

OK, I was able to reserve the whole bar for Metafilter from 6-8 pm on March 10. You are welcome to hang out after that, but it will be open to the public after 8. They do not serve food there, but we can bring food in. Let me know if we should organize bringing in some sort of food for the group. Parking is on the street, but is free after 6 (and there are a few $5 lots close by). They will have a $6 cocktail special for us and happy hour pricing on beers (see diveaustin.com). Sound OK?

I think we should order a delivery from East Side Pies. we've gotten them at work several times, and it's pretty choice, as far as pizza goes.

Ooh, they have gluten-free. I could be down with that (although no pizza place is actually gluten-free, so for people more allergic than I am, I don't really recommend it.)

Alright let's talk pizzas. They want 24 hrs. for large orders. I'll place the order next Friday AM. I figure 1 18" pizza will feed 3 people, & a 2-topping pie is ~$20.00 so figure roughly $7.00 per person, and I'll order a little extra in case. So let me know by thursday afternoon:

2. if you're carnivorous or herbivorous,
3. Gluten-free is individual 10" only, so if you want gluten-free, spec you toppings as well
4. There is no 4. 4 is the number of the cab... I've said too much.
I'll get a variety of meat & meat-free pies ordered to be delivered at 6:30 or so. I can collect $$ at the meetup.
You can memail me so we don't clog up this lovely thread.

Friend says "If you don't want Starbucks (15th and San Antonio) but there's a place called Caffe Medici on Guadaloupe, maybe 21st-ish. Short walk. Sit upstairs where it's warmer. [2222 Guadeloupe St ] That place will have the best coffee, can't attest to the environment"

Ooh that reminds me. Of course I only took pictures of my cats, but they are kinda cute. (Even if Mags refused to look at the camera.)
I do regret not getting video of Dottie attempting to smack the hell out of you, though, Jessamyn. That was priceless. (And she has been sulking on the bed since you left.)
