I'll be visiting Austin Dec. 8-16 and would love to meet some locals.
You know, it's been a while since we had a meetup here, and I was thinking I might need to propose one. Thank you for saving me from doing that.

Hoyay! I've been thinking it's time too. I may be in Houston the 11th & 12th (the weekend) for extended family fun, but if that's when is best for everyone else, schedule around me.

That hasn't been an airport for about 11 years, but you're within walking distance of my house.

I'd vote for Cherrywood, but then I've never been to Flight Path for some reason. I've never gotten good service in groups at Red House.

i would love to see y'all again, and i nth the recommendation of the cherrywood coffee shop -- it's roomy, indoor/outdoor, good food selection but also good coffee and adult beverages.

I'm up for Cherrywood. And I agree that a weekday (or a Sunday?) would be best, since people usually have a ton o' weekend plans around this time.

I'd love to get in on this. My schedule these next couple of weeks is pretty nutty, so I'll stay out of any time/date discussions and just hope things line up! I am pro-Cherrywood.

Evening is best for me. Let's get this ironed out, people. OP, how is your Saturday night the 11th or Sunday the 12th looking, or Wednesday the 15th? Since no one else has thrown out actual dates yet.

Since people have said above weeknights might be better, how does Wednesday, Dec. 15, at Cherrywood sound? Is 7 pm OK?

Cherrywood has a cozy little side room (a recent addition), and I just inquired about reserving it for our meetup. It requires a $40 deposit (that will go toward the first $40 in food and beverages we order), which I'm happy to cover. It's available from 6 pm to 9 pm that evening. Shall we move the start time to 6:00? And then if anyone wants to hang past 9:00, we can just migrate to the main part of the coffeehouse, or go elsewhere.
Sound good? OK!
