I'm going to be in Austin for a work conference, but would love to escape the schmoozing and meet some locals. Anybody up for getting together the evening of October 16?
I'll be staying at the Hilton Austin, but can take a Lyft to whatever location folks recommend. It would be great to meet somewhere that noise levels won't prohibit conversation; beyond that I don't have any particular venue requirements. Dinner, coffee, beer, whatever sounds good to folks.

I'm pretty flexible for timing as well, so let me know what works for you.

I also just noticed that there's something called the "Museum of the Weird" a couple blocks from my hotel, which based on the name alone sounds like it's worth skipping out on some of the conference for. Can folks confirm? (If it's recommended, I'd welcome company for that too!)

Last time I got to a meetup (also occasioned by someone visiting from out of town) we met at Easy Tiger, which was convivial. Should also be accessible for nickmark. They don't have any music on their calendar for the 16th, so it should be quiet enough to talk. That might be an option.

OK, unless anyone has other suggestions, I’ll plan to be at Easy Tiger starting around 6 on Tuesday evening. Feel free to propose something different as I’m pretty flexible.

I’ll be the white dude with glasses and a cane, likely sporting a shirt with the MEEA logo.
