This thread is for planning the Metafilter 20th Anniversary meetup in the Twin Cities. The first metafilter post was on July 14th, 1999. Jessamyn is hosting folks in Massachusetts on the 13th and I think that a Saturday might be more convenient for folks than a Sunday. [more inside]

I'll be visiting family in my hometown of the Twin Cities for the holidays and would love an opportunity to sneak away for a meetup with some of the large contingent of MSP Mefites. Is anyone free and looking for an excuse to go out for a drink or meal post-Christmas / pre-New Years?

Hi! This is super short notice but I have 2 extra tickets to the Nebraska vs. Minnesota basketball game on Thursday at 6pm. One of the ticket holders has to work and the other is staying in Colombia for an extra few days. Would one or two of you be interested in coming along? Looking at everyone's schedules, it seems like our best bet will be October 8. There are three shows and you can buy a pass for all three, which I might just do. The schedule is:

8:00 pm Election! The improvised comedy election you wish was real – not to be confused with the real election you wish was an improvised comedy

9:30 pm Super Good Super Good takes simple ideas to their furthest physical and emotional distance. Let’s go! The ensemble cast is Anna Tobin, Erik Neilson, Gubby Kubik, Lupe Muraszewski, and Molly Chase.

10:30 pm Attenborough: The improvised wildlife documentary Attenborough : The Improvised Wildlife Documentary Explore the wonders of the animal kingdom in glorious, live, improvised 3-D.

About the Show: No matter what happens this election cycle, only one thing is for certain: it WILL be satirized in our 2016 election show, "Lady and the Trump."

"Lady and the Trump" will feature BNW cast members Lauren Anderson, Andy Kraft, Ryan Nelson, Tom Reed and Taj Ruler. The show will be directed by Caleb McEwen. Josie Just will be the music director, and Matthew Vichlach will provide technical direction.
