Hey, I'm going to NTEN on April 13/14 in Minneapolis. Anybody else going? Want to get together?
Well, I'm gonna be in Minneapolis and outside of the conference, my goals are to:
1) Get drunk
2) See Prince
And I don't think the second one is mandatory.

I'm not going to the conference, but your being in town is as good a reason as any for a meetup. Where are you staying and what days are best to have drinks/dinner?

Oh, and Saturday night would be best for me. On the assumption I'll be traveling for work, I'll be flying in on Friday night and out on Sunday aft.

Hmm, turns out that my husband already made plans for us for that weekend, dinner at Barbette and then the midnight showing of Clue at the Uptown Landmark Theater with friends on Saturday, April 13.
If you want to co-opt our plans for the meetup, we're totally okay with that!

Yeah, I've been waiting on my flight confirmation to figure out exactly what my schedule is, but gimme an hour or so and I should be able to figure it out.

The Local's good for beer, never eaten there but I've heard good things. If you can get to the North Loop (just north of the baseball stadium) there are some good places there, like Smack Shack and Fulton brewery for a pint.
Butcher and the Boar is nearby and it's incredible for scotch and dinner, but might be a bit out of your price range.

Brit's is also close to you. Really, if you just get over to Nicollet Mall there are lots of places all along there.
You might also like Hell's Kitchen. If you like jazz, the Dakota is also right there.

I can maybe be persuaded to leave my apartment this evening. I'm kind of lacking in ideas, though. My restaurant ideas would all be going south of downtown, but that's kind of dumb, as the logical thing to do would be to meet at the Hilton, which would entail me going north.

Hey, I could make it if you still want to meet. There's a place right around the corner from the Hilton called the Devil's Advocate. I've never been, but I've been curious about it. Or there are a bunch of places within a stones's throw (Brit's, The Local, Barrio, etc).

Ugh. Missed you message, Trigger. Ended up strolling down to Nye's and running into a bunch of people from the conference there.
Sorry about the flake factor, folks. If I coulda made this work better, I would have. I'll just have to come back to the Twin Cities — I've liked what I've seen, but this visit was too brief and too overstuffed.
