Sun March 17 at 12:30 PM, Baan Thai
1326 14th St NW, Washington, DC, USA (Map & Directions)
Friends, let's do lunch. Let's do lunch at the Thai place that proudly posts its one-star Yelp review from "Alexa" (not me!) because it was "too spicy" and "doesn't even have pad thai". Yes, we're going to Baan Thai (WaPo review) in two weeks--come join us! As always, newcomers and visitors to DC are welcome.
I tried to come up with an alliteration or pun for the title but I couldn't think of one. Oh well - it's Monday.

Baan Thai is in Logan Circle DC, in walking distance of the Dupont Circle, McPherson Square, and Shaw metro stops and right on the 52/54 bus lines. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor. Note: vegetarian/vegan options are limited to nonexistent, so please plan accordingly.

If you get to the restaurant before me, our reservation is under "Alexa". Still not the one who left the Yelp review!

Thoughts on bringing a toddler? She'll happily sit and eat noodles but I don't want to impose if folks would be bothered.

DC United Against Hate is doing an anti-Bolsonaro protest that afternoon in Lafayette Park starting at 12:30 so I can't come for lunch but if people are still around after eating and feel like pushing back against the international rise of the far right feel free to come out when you're done (:

Aw, I'd love to meet her! We've definitely had kids from 0-4 join the FOODIES meetups before.

And kids of all ages are welcome.

Hey, how soon in advance do you need to know if I can make it? A family member's birthday is the 18th, so I may be doing stuff with them, but if not I'd love to join you all.

A few days in advance is fine!

Just to clarify on advance notice--I made a reservation for 10 people which was all the yeses and half the maybes at the time I reserved. Should probably be able to modify it relatively easily up until the day of, but I've sometimes had issues modifying a reservation the night before.

Running a bit late, can someone please request a high chair for us?

OK, Metro was slower than advertised. I will try to make up for it by walking really fast, but may be a few minutes late.

I forgot to add: please go ahead and order without me, but I don’t think I’ll be more than a few minutes late.

We are here! You can’t miss us; it’s the huge table in the center

Sorry to miss! I ended up missing my flight back to DC yesterday, so I'm flying back today. Currently in the Houston airport on a layover eating substandard lunch fare.
