Hey, I'm half Brazilian but living in London. I've found this amazing Brazilian bar and restaurant in London called Tia Maria. If anyone fancies it I'd love to show you my culture and be great to meet new people in the city! I propose Friday the 20th of May at 8pm. Music starts at 10pm :) Hope to see some of you there!

Good evening Londoners (or those who have moved to London): I've recently moved to London and I'm looking for people to meet in the Islington/Hackney/Dalston area. I don't know a soul! I love socialising/eating out so I'd love to visit a few restaurants in Islington or Hackney with drinks before, and then a meal after. I've been recommended Vins so if anyone fancies it let me know and I'd love to meet. I also love museums and walks too.

I think we should have a meetup because it feels like it's been a while. I propose we meet at Mi Rancho in Silver Spring because it has an outside space, it's nearish the Metro, and restaurants with margaritas are good for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. [more inside]

Something to hold us over until the Watts Tower meetup in July, how about a trip to Badmaash, the awesome Indian gastropub in Downtown? Looks as if June 22nd works for more people. I've been memailing mediareport about it, and we both agree that we need to have another meetup in March. I was thinking Gourmet Kingdom would be a great option because it's quiet during the week (meaning not quiet on Fri/Sat), it has a challenging/intimidating/exciting/fun Szechuan menu (attn: vegetarians: the braised eggplant is amazing!), and it's in the Chapel Hill/Carrboro part of the triangle, thus satisfying the "our turn" part of the rotation. There's ample parking, and plenty of nearby watering holes for afterwards should we want to maintain conversational momentum like last time in Raleigh. Would any Thursdays in March be bad for anyone? What Thursdays work best for you in March? What Thursdays work worst for you in March? Why wouldn't you want to meet up on a Thursday? What is it about those damned Thursdays? Do you know anybody named Thursday? Are they coming? Would they be embarrassed?

Hello! Having recently moved to San Francisco (with some help from MeFi), I thought it would be fun to meet fellow MeFites in the area and other transplants to this lovely city. Some of you might remember me from the 10th Anniversary meetup. Some of you might not but don't sweat it— I'll be the one in the blue MetaFilter shirt. My schedule is pretty flexible but here are some random dates: Wednesday, June 8th or Saturday, June 11th? Also, bonus points for someplace in the mission and close to food. Update: We'll be at The Sycamore on Mission between 17th and 18th on June 11th at 6pm.
