As much as I'd like to make another "LET'S JUST GO TO COMET" shitpost now that James bloody O'Keefe of all people is going after them (it's a long story, google it) I think...I think we should do brunch in February! the thought-fox's suggestion of Yayla (Turkish, near East Falls Church metro) sounded really tasty, and we haven't done Middle Eastern yet. Let's go on the 25th at noon!
The thread's been pretty quiet, so I'm just deciding on a date and time (Saturday the 25th at noon) and hopefully folks can make it! To make this simpler I may switch to a "last weekend of the month" plan for future meetups.
I have a reservation for 4 people but it's totally not too late to sign up; if you want to attend just RSVP yes and I will add to the total!

Also tentatively, our next meetup will not be the last weekend of the month: the plan is Rocklands BBQ in early March, which is when they typically hold their "Grills Gone Wild" event featuring unusual meat offerings. We've been talking about going for a long time!

Sorry, was probably a little confusing there! It's Saturday the 25th at noon. Thursday is my informal cutoff for a reservation. Hope you can join us!

Hahaha nope, I didn't.
While I was waiting around, I pumped my car's tires and took the old hubcaps off. So at least I got a chore done :) But eventually, I gave up on brunch and came home to have lox on toast with margarine -- which was surprisingly good.
I'll have to try again and hope for better luck next time!

Dang. Meetup protocol should specify a color for the smoke grenade that the organizer must set off to mark their location. Or maybe a Mylar balloon.
