For another meetup....
The Loyal Legion it is!
err.... Now it's the Leisure Public House!
Scratch that....now it's the Loyal Legion again, hopefully for real real. [more inside]
Now that the food has hit the front page, it's hard to deny that the end of summer will come eventually. Shall we go to the fair? Yes, yes we shall! [more inside]
I'll be in New Paltz on Sunday the 21st and wanted to see if people wanted to take another New Paltz day trip this summer. [more inside]
I have beers aging & beers from Oregon, I'm hoping that there's people in the area of a similar mindset on here. If so, we should meet up for a bottle share. [more inside]
I'll be in New Paltz on Sunday the 21st and wanted to see if we could turn it into a meetup. [I set the location to New York proper because New Paltz may be too far away for some people to get the meetup notification in their e-mail.] [more inside]
Hey so we haven't done a PSU lunch thing in forever. There are only a couple weeks left in the school year; shall we? [more inside]
I'll be in Taipei from May 19 to May 23, and I'm interested in meeting up with anyone else who will be around. Looking for suggestions for places and times. This meetup is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 22, pending confirmation. [more inside]
I think it would be really cool for all MeFites who will be at Sasquan, the 73rd World Science Fiction Convention, to get together. I propose the District Bar on Friday August 21 for early dinner because a) it's a mile walk from the con so we can work up an appetite, b) the menu looks good, and c) I know I'll certainly need a break from the con at that point. [more inside]
I'll be staying in Portland April 28th through May 4th! I'd love to have a beer or 3 with some mefites while I'm in town. [more inside]
My local hackerspace, Hack42 in Arnhem, will be having an Open Day on March 28. There will be workshops, free books, lectures, a children's activity, ancient computers and soup. Any MeFites interested in stopping by? [more inside]
I must be crazy but I'd like to have another IRL event on the horizon, gives me something to look forward to. My husband and I have been here twice - lunch and dinner service - and it's been incredibly good. If you like beer and Indian food, this is the meetup for you! (They also have wine.) [more inside]
I'm back in town with my sister, staying in an AirBnB place in Surrey Quays/Rotherhithe. Would love to meet up for dinner/drinks on Thursday. Doesn't have to be right near here but would be nice if it was easily public transportationable from here. Who is in and can suggest a place? [more inside]
I'd like to hold a meetup at Corners Tavern in Walnut Creek. This is an upscale, "swanky" venue, but also whimsical with a sense of humor, and only semi-formal, as I see it. It's situated in Broadway Plaza near Macy's and is easy to find. About 20-30 minute walk from BART, depending on what lights you get. What say you? [more inside]
OK so you're not into amaro, is there another option for Bay Area Mefites? THERE IS NOW. This venue is a cheap-and-cheerful alehouse with a variety of beers on tap. This is strictly a casual event -- swing by to say 'hi', leave when you want. No biggie. [more inside]
So, I made some beer, it turned out good, and I like to share. I'm calling it TCP-IPA, and the recipe is here.
Thing is, I don't get out that much, at least close to home, so I don't know a good venue for this kind of thing. I was thinking of asking Øl in Walnut Creek if I could bring some of my own - but I'd be open to other suggestions of a good place and time (in January)
UPDATE: Got a place. Details inside

I'm planning on moving to the area next Spring, and this is my research trip. I've wanted to do this since 1977, so it's long overdue, and I'm ridiculously excited. I'd love to have a meetup! I'll be there Wednesday afternoon and I'm leaving early Tuesday morning. (Crossposting to Seattle, also.) [more inside]
I recently-ish moved back to my hometown, and it looks like there have only been a few IRL events here. If you're a Cincinnati MeFite, chime in, and let's drink beer and eat food from whatever food truck is parked outside MadTree. [more inside]

I propose Metafilters from far and near meet up at around 1 PM for sausages and beer. We'll carefully discuss the merits of the fine wiener dog athletes and then cheer them on. I'm not exactly sure, but I think the entry fees total out to $2. [more inside]

In the Weird DC thread, troika mentioned that Churchkey + going to the incredibly bizarre yet oddly charming Monarch Novelties could be a great meetup combination, so I say: why not? We'll meet up at Monarch at noon, and then hang out at Churchkey until whenever. Feel free to drop in at any time in the afternoon.
After years of threats and/or promises, me and smasuch will be in SF from the 9th to the 15th of May, and we'd like to meet you fine folks over some local brews! [more inside]
Lutoslawski will be leaving us for more academic environs in early July, so I propose a send-off meetup Saturday June 14 with plenty of food and libations. [more inside]
Beer! Free party! 1-10pm! [more inside]
I was thinking we should have a game day/evening here in Portland again. Any suggestions for days/times/locales? Just cards, like that one time that devolved into cards against humanity? Board games? Which also usually devolves into cards against humanity. How do we feel about just playing cards against humanity, or do we not want to do that at all? [more inside]
We won Pacific Standard's pub quiz a while ago and never redeemed our prize, a $200 party at the bar. Join us and drink free (within reason)!
