Pub Trivia with MeFi's Own Space Coyote

HEY NERDS, Did you know our very own mega-nerd Space Coyote (aka Alexander) hosts a pub trivia night on Mondays? Let's get a group together and answer 60% of the questions and feel S-M-R-T!
We should pick a Monday in the future. EXCEPT NOT THE THIRD MONDAY OF THE MONTH. Because that Monday the Atherton library runs trivia and it's not nearly as fun. So, to give us some leeway, what are people's thoughts on Sep 28th or Oct 5th?
Trivia starts at 7:30pm and goes till about 9:30. Someone (likely me) would need to get there early to save a table, or I think we can call ahead and reserve a table if we'll have more than like 5 people.
So- location is Freewheel Brewing, recently featured in a Wall Street Journal article about cask beers. And the beer is excellent and reasonably priced. It is not easily accessible by public transit, but it might be possible to arrange rides from Menlo Park Caltrain if people were interested.
A little bit about the trivia part: it's $3 a person to play (cash only); there are three rounds of about 20 questions each. The team that gets the most points in a round gets half-pints of beer for the team. 1st prize is a $25 gift cert to the bar, second prize is usually like branded pint glasses or something.

Hate beer but love trivia. Can help carpool from MP Caltrain, no problem. Either day works, slight preference for October 5.

I am quite interested in this! I haven't done trivia in a loooong time and am missing it. Either date is fine with me.

This will put a crimp in my last minute copying and pasting of MetaFilter posts for question material habit, but it's for the best. Hope to see everyone soon :)

Oooooh, I would love to get in on this. Either of those Mondays should work fine for me - I'll be coming up from Sunnyvale.

I'll be out of town on the 28th. For dog-related reasons, weeknights can be tricky for me unless either I'm working from home or the event is right in my own neighborhood. But it does sound like fun, and other dates aren't out of the realm of possibility.

I forgot to mention that the bar has food (general english pub fare- sausages and mash, fish and chips, but also salads, a pretzel, homemade crisps...). AND since my regular team won this past week, I have a $25 gift card I can use to buy us some beer and/or snacks.
Looks like there's a slight preference for 05 October, so I'm gonna call it now.

I'm here, saving a part of the big table in the middle of the room. If you've never met me before (or if you have and forgot what I look like), I have brown wavy hair and cateye glasses, and today I am wearing a navy blue lace top.

We got 2nd place with only me and zsazsa!!! Zsazsa got a (well-deserved) beer for knowing that the Star Trek Class C ship is called the "Ambassador" class. We gotta do this again so more people come!

Sarahnade is a regular so if the whim ever strikes you I'm sure she'd happily have a team with anyone who ever wants to show up in the future.
