Hello Bay Area Mefites! I have just moved to the area and Internet Fraud Detective Squad, Station Number 9 will be visiting for a few days. We would like to meet some of you!
UPDATED DETAILS: Saturday, 9/12, 3pm-a while later, Antonio's Nut House in Palo Alto.
I have confirmed the meetup for Saturday afternoon, 3pm until later, Antonio's Nut House.
We will be around for a few hours, so those who could only come in early evening should definitely show up! Looking forward to meeting everyone!
Constraints:
-- I don't know any places around here, but:
-- Preference for venue: sit around and drink beer, unstructured seating (easy to mix), not too loud.
-- Must be accessible from Stanford (no car but willing to be intrepid).
I don't know when people will be available! Daytime Saturday might be a good starting point for negotiations, but we are flexible as to day and time.
Looking forward to hearing from y'all.

In a perfectly lovely turn of events, I'll be in the Palo Alto area this weekend for a family get-together and would love to join you all! Saturday daytime works best for me but I'm not exactly sure what time yet. I could probably make anything work but I'll comment again when I find out more detail about my schedule, if we haven't already settled on something. Yay!

I'd love to come, but my Saturday days are always booked until 5-ish (6-ish, if you don't want me showing up somewhere all sweaty and still in LARP garb). If the meetup runs into the evening, I'm in.

Probably the best place that fits the bill for casual seating is Antonio's Nut House on California Ave.. We've had metopes there before. Palo Alto has been losing a lot of its less fancy bars and restaurants lately but the Nut House is always a good bet for larger groups.
I'm flexible schedule wise, looking forward to it.

i am available afternoon on sat - need to leave by 5 though, so earlier afternoon works better for me.
the nut house in PA works. there's also the dutch goose in menlo.

The Dutch Goose is great but a little further away. If it's the afternoon we could probably snag a table or two outside at the Rose & Crown which has a good beer selection.
