Our February meetup will be either on Saturday the 9th or Sunday the 10th. Bring your games, snacks and/or drinks. Please let me know if you're bringing a snack or a drink, so I can say, "Hey, we need more people to bring drinks!" or similar. December's board game meetup lasted 8 hours, and January's lasted 9, so feel free to come over even if you couldn't make it for the first hour or three. [more inside]

Our January meetup will be on Saturday the 12th. Bring your games, snacks and/or drinks. December's board game meetup lasted 8 hours, so feel free to come over even if you couldn't make it for the first hour or three.
As I feel eideteker has a number of points concerning the December 9th Meetup, and it's not often that folks from out of town get to see other members of the community, I propose a counter-shindig the same hour and day over at Becco, which is 2 blocks away in Time Square. Thus, in the spirit of civility and diplomacy, the two groups can converge afterward and shake hands. Who's with me, comrades?
Let's try again, shall we? We have Pandemic, Ticket to Ride, Scrabble, and Risk, and I will probably buy Small World or Dominion before this comes around. We have three tables for playing games, and will provide a small amount of snacks. Bring snacks and drinks that you'd like to have. I propose that we do this on either Saturday, Dec. 1, or Sunday, Dec. 2. Once again, we'll start at 2pm. [more inside]
This Sunday, the fate of the nation is in your hands. [more inside]

I want to play board games with you fine people! I can host such an event on Sunday, Oct. 28th. We have Ticket to Ride, Scrabble, and Risk, and I've been looking for an excuse to buy Pandemic or Dominion. We can either use my place (we have three tables that could be used for playing games) or somewhere else.

Let's have another dog meetup. Same time, same place works for me. Let me know if it does for you.
The one and only hip hop debate, where we argue the pro's and the con's til the break-a break-a dawn. Watch freestylers take your suggestions and debate the relative merits of time travel, zoos, Cats: The Musical, and anything else you can think of. I'll personally be laying down the beats. And you... you can jump up on stage with us and take a shot at the crown! [more inside]
So I'm going to be in NYC for a couple of days in October, and I would love to meet some of you crazy cats in person. I know you guys have a lot (a lot!) of meetups - would you be up for one more? [more inside]

I will be working at the NYC Honey Festival at the Rockaway Beach Boardwalk this Saturday. It just occurred to me to post it here. Come take advantage of one of the few remaining nice Saturdays of 2012! And get free samples of local honey, and drink locally-brewed beer with honey in it, and check out a honey extraction and glassed-in observation hive! And probably listen to me geek out about varroa mite mitigation techniques!
valkyryn and I will be in New York from October 11 - 14 for New York Comic Con. We are giving a panel talk on October 12 at 5pm (related IRL post), but we would also like to meet up outside the convention. Lets' meet up at Lillie's Time Square on the 13th.

A ridiculously silly show in the style of your standard elementary school Thanksgiving Pageant, but will all the smallpox and religious intolerance added back in, plus really stupid jokes. Like, I mean, e.g. Miles Standish is never clearly standing or sitting. So. There's that. November 20-23! [more inside]

Thanks to the answers to my AskMe question, I will be floating around NYC from 9/2 through 9/4 with no firm plans on what to do. I will be staying in Brooklyn (Bushwick, wherever that may be) but I can go wherever the subway/train/bus will take me. Does anyone want to meet up for dinner or some other sort of hanging out?

I'm taking the intern on a tour of NYC journalism hotspots and we might as well have a meetup while we're at it. He's only 18 so bars are out, and we're flying in Monday afternoon so I figure a Monday night meetup would be a good introduction to NYC, good food, and good friends.
Skygazer and I are thinking of hanging out at HD's place. If you're interested in joining in, say aye, and we'll pick out a time and date.
I'll be in Prospect Park (Brooklyn, NY) from 4pm-6pm on Sunday, June 19th, ready to take photos of any MeFites who need new good pictures of themselves, as per this thread. Come to get your photo taken, or feel free to bring your camera to help out! [more inside]
