Brooklyn Dog Meetup

Sat July 28 at 11:00 AM, Prospect Park
95 Prospect Park West, Brooklyn, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
Let's have a Brooklyn dog meetup some Saturday while the weather is nice (but not too hot.)
Our little prima donna Apple isn't bright enough to go totally off-leash unless it's an enclosed area, so I suggest Owl's Head dog park in Bay Ridge. Other suggestions totally welcome, that's just the only place we've been with her.
Yes. I don't have a dog, but yes. I don't have a dog, therefore yes.

(But the next one is totally gonna be at Prospect Park!)

YOUR TINY DOG IS NAMED SAMSON
I wanted a pug to name it Adonis but that didn't work out.

You know those extendo-leashes they have, where line unspools from the grip when the dog walks away and then rolls back in when the dog comes back? I saw a woman in the park with one of those, same as all the others except made of beautiful wood!

Yes, please to this meetup, I was just telling a friend last night that I would pay by the hour to play with a dog right now.
As long as dog-less people are allowed, that is.

Large parts of Prospect Park are leash-free before 9am and after 9pm. There are no enclosed dog runs. A future dog meetup at Prospect Park would probably best be a leashed meetup!
For now, we're still talking about meeting at Owl's Head Park in Bay Ridge, right?

We would come and bring Norman. For future dog meetups, Hillside is a pretty large enclosed run in Brooklyn Heights with a special gated off small dog area.

Prospect Park would be much easier for me than Bay Ridge. I have done that trip with my dog both in cab and subway and he's been great.

Here's a suggestion: this Saturday, 1pm, on the lawn in front of Litchfield Villa, 5th St & Prospect Park West. It's a small space, so maybe easier to find each other. We could walk the dogs into the greater park after giving everyone time to show up. F/G train at 7th Av is the closest subway.

Crap, I have a thing on Saturday. If everyone else wants to do that, speak up and I'll just change the info to what moonmilk suggested.

I'm actually out of the running for Saturday but, again, I don't mind not making it to this one.

Doesn't sound like we have a quorum for this Saturday, but - I live less than a block from Litchfield Villa, so Samson and I will happily meet anydog there tomorrow at 11am.
Unless it's raining.
And how about NEXT Saturday 11am?

We can probably do next Saturday, but I'll double check. Should I set that as the tentative time/date?

Whoo! People who don't have puppies yet could maybe bring pictures of puppies they are going to have, or wish they had.
p.s. please change the time to 11 AM.

Also, everyone should carry around pictures of puppies they want all the time.

I manage permits and enforcement in Prospect Park so I will meet you at 11am outside my office and promptly give you tickets and kick you out for not having a permit. Just kidding. I'll come say hi and give you a map.

We're meeting on the lawn in front of Litchfield Villa, at 5th St and Prospect Park West. Memail me if you want my cell number; I'm glad to give directions.
Anthropoid, do you work in the Villa? I've lived across the street for 15 years and somehow I've never been in there!

I work in the basement! Which, luckily, is the ground floor if you are at the back of the building.

A reminder for dogs and their people who haven't been to Prospect Park before - there's no enclosed dog runs, and dogs are allowed off leash only after 9pm and before 9am. So this will be an all-leashed dog meetup.
Release the hounds!
