flapjax at midnite's LAST show in NYC
Hello and welcome to any and all Mefi friends in NYC who might like to catch my LAST show in town before I head back to Tokyo. I'll be thumpin' the tubs and singin' songs about how lousy the MetroCard system is. And suchlike. Along with an ace band. All info here at the Roulette website.
Meetup: Ft. Greene, Brooklyn
We narrowed it down to a date! An actual date! And an actual place! And my mind is still reeling that it's a German beer garden (who'd a thunk it?) just down the street from where I used to live back in the 90s! Here's the place. Looking forward to meeting new friends in my old neighborhood that will no doubt seem like a new neighborhood. Prost!
ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK
Proposal: That the NYC dwelling Mefites do take up a great burden and escape the Heated and Tortuous confines of the Concrete Jungle toward the Edenic and Splendid pastorals of Beacon, NY on a Day Trippe on Sunday The 25th of August. The village is reachable via Metro-North and contains Many Sources Of Amusement, such as the DIA: Beacon and humble, Hudson Valley charm. What say you, Urbanites? [more inside]

Weekly Brooklyn supercollidin' meetup
Was thinking about proposing a meetup at Supercollider and just saw that Bar Scrawl (previously featured on the blue) did a neat writeup of it. Like Bill Roundy, I got the black hole to drink and it was tasty! They have a happy hour ('til 7, I think) and a cool little rooftop space. (If this date ain't no good, let me know and I will change it--any day next week is cool.)
