DC FOODIES Brunch It Up
Um, did someone say "all you can eat and drink"? Inspired by Washington City Paper's celebration of DC's rich Trinidadian heritage, we're headed to Crown Bakery in Brightwood Park, DC, for Sunday brunch on the 22nd. (I was going to say we're heading to Trinidad, but that's an actual place in DC and I endeavor to eliminate confusion!) Is Kennedy St. really the new Upshur St.? Join us and find out! [more inside]
March for Our Lives
I'm posting this to allow coordination for any MeFites, local or visiting for the occasion, who will be attending the March for Our Lives on the 24th. [more inside]
DC Drinkers Amaro Adventure
Not exactly a traditional DC Foodies meetup, but: I recently posted a question about trying new amari on AskMe, and exogenous mentioned that Don Ciccio e Figli is producing amari right here in DC! Let's go try them next month. [more inside]
Zoo Meetup
This coming weekend (Saturday, March 17th) we will be having a family-friendly meetup at the zoo! Everyone is welcome; we thought this would be a nice opportunity for people with kids and people without kids to hang out especially because the zoo is FREE! [more inside]
Sauce Trough and Palmcorder_Yajna are coming to Washington, DC
Hey DC Mefites!
Sauce Trough and I are going to be in town at the end of the month and we'd love to hang out. Is anyone up for a meetup the weekend of the 27th? We'll be staying just north of the National Mall, but we're definitely up for exploring other parts of the city, if another locale works better for folks.
UPDATE: Time and venue selected:

DC/Silver Spring Meetup!
I think we should have a meetup because it feels like it's been a while. I propose we meet at Mi Rancho in Silver Spring because it has an outside space, it's nearish the Metro, and restaurants with margaritas are good for drinkers and non-drinkers alike. [more inside]
Lunchtime White House Protest
I'm planning to start protesting outside the White House on my lunch break (which I suppose I will have to start taking). Although this event only specifies February 8th, I'm hoping to go almost every day this week and next. [more inside]
DC FOODIES February brunchytimes
As much as I'd like to make another "LET'S JUST GO TO COMET" shitpost now that James bloody O'Keefe of all people is going after them (it's a long story, google it) I think...I think we should do brunch in February! the thought-fox's suggestion of Yayla (Turkish, near East Falls Church metro) sounded really tasty, and we haven't done Middle Eastern yet. Let's go on the 25th at noon! [more inside]
DC Meetup for Expectant/Recent Parents and Anyone Who Doesn't Mind Talking About Strollers
I know there are a bunch of expectant MeFi parents in the DC area (and maybe some recent parents?) so I thought it would be nice if we could have a meetup to keep ourselves sane(ish) and get a chance to check in with other intelligent, thoughtful adults going through the same thing. Everyone who wants to come is welcome, just know that the conversation might center around, like, babies and whatnot. I expect this to be this Saturday afternoon, April 16th. [more inside]
DC FOODIES Go Into the Woods
As promised: our rare foods tour has taken us to many meaty delights, so now it's time to visit some vegetables! Let's go to the Woodlands Vegetarian Restaurant weekend buffet in Langley Park, MD later this month. [more inside]

Delicious Foodstuffs Tour of DC Begins with Fish in the Hood
The winner of our food poll is Fish in the Hood, located in Park View, DC. (Easy walk from Georgia Ave-Petworth Metro.) (Also, potentially, in the 'hood?) I'm going to go ahead and simplify this process and pick out a date myself: Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 7:00 PM. It's near some great bars so a Saturday night should be pretty ideal for anyone who wants a night out on the town. Hope to see you all there! [more inside]

IF YOU COME TO ONE DC MEETUP THIS DECADE, MAKE IT MEFI'S 15th BIRTHDAY!
In honor of the 15th birthday of Metafilter, we'll be having a meetup at Science Club, the same place we had our meetup for the tenth. Please really do consider coming, even if you've never been to a meetup before. Let's make this one count! [more inside]
Let's drink beer and buy toys!
In the Weird DC thread, troika mentioned that Churchkey + going to the incredibly bizarre yet oddly charming Monarch Novelties could be a great meetup combination, so I say: why not?
We'll meet up at Monarch at noon, and then hang out at Churchkey until whenever. Feel free to drop in at any time in the afternoon.

Washington DC is open again!
I'm going to be in DC on Friday November 1 for a meeting (which just got finally confirmed, even though everyone in the department I contract for has been furloughed recently and so it hasn't had any organizers...) and I'll be staying overnight. Wondering if any mefites want to meet up for dinner and/or drinks? I'm staying in Dupont Circle, but happy to head anywhere. Update: we have added a restaurant venue.
I Don't Know Why You Say Goodbye, I Say Hello
So, I'm going to be back in town for a conference after nine months absence or so and miss all my Internet friends. More importantly, beloved MeFite Potomac Avenue is leaving DC for bigger apples. What say we get together for drinks and funtimes?

Big Ideas Social Club Returns
Since you helped me start it last November, Big Ideas Social Club has been going strong: we're an entertaining cross between a 17th century salon, a group of bar buddies and the funniest guys and gals you've ever met. Our sixth meeting will be on Groundhog Day and, since it's been a while since I've done it formally, I want to invite MeFites out. [more inside]
Washington, DC - come out come out wherever you are
Hi all. We moved to DC at the beginning of December and although I've already met a few of the area's fine MeFites, I'd like to meet more.
My own special snowflakeness: I have a toddler and my significant other comes home late, so weekends are best.
Otherwise, what works for others?
DC meetup at 8:00 at Atomic Billiards
I'll be in Washington DC for a little bit and would be game for a meetup on either the 14th, 15th or 16th. Interested? Evenings are better for me, it'd be cool to go for drinks or something. (Preferably in a place where conversation is actually possible, since Mefites have interesting delicious brains.)
Noel Coward play + possible socializing before or after
A pal of mine is in the Silver Spring Stage production of Noel Coward's Private Lives and nearly guarantees a good time to any attendee. Cutting British wit, that sort of thing. It's at 8. Wanna grab beverages/food before &/or after? Update: My pal says, "For pregaming, there's a Mexican place also across the street that is ideal - Fajita Coast." So I hereby propose that we meet there at 7pm. I shall be there with a book in any case. [more inside]
