Hey all, I'm going to be in Sydney for a couple days next week and would love to meet up at a bar and see those of you from MeFi I never get to meet in person. I have no idea where to meet up, but Thursday night next week (August 4th) somewhere downtown by the circular quay would work best for me.

I moved to Cork a few months ago and we're finally settled, so I think it's beyond time to arrange a meetup. I would love to meet some local mefites and have a yarn. I'm here with my non-mefi husband (don't worry, he's still nice) who will be tagging along. We're open to suggestions for times and places since we don't know the local scene at all. Last time's 7th place finish (out of 15 teams) was like the episode of Cheers when Cliff went on Jeopardy! and found categories that were custom-made for him... only exactly the opposite. Hey guys! It's time again for Boston/Cambridge area Geeks Who Drink pub trivia. We must continue our trivia dominance over the rest of New England nerdery. We will of course be at Tommy Doyle's in Harvard Square again, but your guess is as good as mine as to which floor. Maybe we'll be on the roof. Who knows--it's all part of the adventure. My band, Short Wave, is playing its first gig, at Sally O'Brien's in Union Square, Somerville! We're opening for an old Boston indie mainstay, the In Out (which I was a part of in 1995-96), and they are releasing their latest LP. Yes, vinyl, not CD. So: Friday, July 29, we go on at 10PM.
