Who would be up for another Game Day in August?
Saturdays seem best to me, but this all depends on who can actually make it out.
So please, chime in with which days would work for you and we'll get something figured out.
Games may to include:
Catan
Dominion
Illuminati
Zombie Dice
Munchkin
and who knows what else.

Illuminati Day? Yeah, we can make that work.
I even found an alt version of Illuminati, based on INWO rules, that I had bought years ago.

Geez, Nick, give use noobs a chance to wrap our heads around the original version first!!
Either way, I'm almost always available eves after, say, 6pm, and pretty much any time weekends (with the very occasional previous engagement here and there); so I'll let others make the final decision.

I'm not available the first weekend in August, and if you fuckers play Illuminati without me again, there will be blood.

Fear not, dersins, I can't make that one either, therefore it won't be.
Unless you....uh....fuc...err....folks intend to deal us both out....

I'd forgotten about this last time, but I'm going to go ahead and bring Death Angel this time in case anyone wants to take a crack at that. It's pretty brutal, and I don't have the expansion pack, but it's somethin'.

Allow me to narrow the focus a bit:
would the 13th or 20th work for anyone?
Which would be better/worse?
What is YOUR ideal time of day?
And should we stick with Caldera?

In the evening, when I pop open a bottle and taste that first sip of beer.
...but I digress.

I've previously stated my unavailability on the 13th. I will not threaten anyone with grievous bodily harm, but you will be cursed unto the seventh son of the seventh son. Good luck with that.

This Summer I will only be in PDX for August, and I really want my 13 year old to get some IRL gamer goodness from the hive.
Speaking for us:
The 6th works. The 13th works. The 20th works.

Probably 20th, then? That way dersins and mimo can both make it.
Caldera is fine with me.

So we have a day: August 20th.
Does this work for all interested parties?
Any suggestions on time of day? Earlier than last game day? Later?

If we do Caldera, part of that might depend on how long we can get the space for. 3 hours was a little short with the games being played - games that already run long, plus new/lapsed players learning rules, people coming in a bit late, et cetera - so if it's a choice between 3 hours again starting around 3, or 4-5 hours starting around 12, I'd go for 12 (plus then it's lunch time anyway, hooray).

I second curious nu - in the sense of doing what we need to do in order to have enough play time.
Please don't start before noon, though; I rarely manage to get through my weekend sleep-in/wake-up/coffee-savoring routine before 11am on weekends, and even noon is pushing my ability to show up on time.

We could always start at 1:00.
It's still lunchtime.
And if we reserve the room far enough in advance, we won't be so limited on time.

Careful of the prop-wash, though; it'll blow the playing cards everywhere and we'll spend the whole time playing 52 Pick-Up. Or in the case of "Illuminati", 252 Pick-Up.

I suspected as much, but I was going for a sort of numeric alliteration. Or something like that. Yeah, that's the ticket....

Just to let everyone know, I have reserved the space for 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
This should give us adequate time in which to (potentially) complete at least one game of Illuminati.

So I was going to print out a bunch of these, and then it turned out there's actually a bit of setup work involved with getting one put together. Are any of these of particular interest to anyone?

I have Catan, if I can find it by tomorrow. Haven't played these types of games in a decade or so, and it would be my first meetup. Feel like I should have been practicing my complex-game play ahead of time, to keep pace! Oh, and I'm from Albany, not PDX - out of the loop on every count!

That's OK. I usually play like an uninformed idiot just to add an extra layer of uncertainty to the games.
