Board Game Night Near West Portal
My friends and I run a board game night group at a friend's place near west portal every thursday. Mefi people would be welcome. [more inside]
Spoopy board games for October
As usual, it's taken me forever to get another proposed event together because I am terrible with numbers, and events, and time. But! With the season of the witch nearly upon us, what better time to try a thematic board game meetup? [more inside]
Philadelphia! Board games? BOARD GAMES
A timely followup thread, for once! Who's up for some more board games in mid- to late June? [more inside]
Board Games on Veteran's Day
I will be hosting a Games Day in my home on Wednesday, November 11th. This is Veteran's Day and is a holiday for federal workers. Start time is 11 AM, but people come and leave as they please, and since we tend to play shorter games it's easy to work in if you come after the start time. [more inside]
Card, Board, and Strategy Games in Frederick, MD
I will be hosting a Games Day in my home on Sunday, June 14th, from 3 PM until the last person leaves (which will likely be at least midnight). Games on hand include Tichu, Poker, Ticket to Ride, Blokus, Pegs and Jokers, Scrabble, Boggle, etc. People are welcome to bring their own games as well. We tend to split up into groups if there are enough people. Current expected attendee count is 6-8 but I would love a few more and I'd love to meet one or more Mefites in person. [more inside]
Georgian Soup Dumplings and All The Games
Citizens! I have a sudden and incontrovertibly ingenious plan, inspired by a Jonathan Gold review on KCRW of the Tumanyan Khinkali Factory, describing the khinkali as a "near peak soup dumpling experience." Given that this is in Glendale, and thus in vague proximity (2ish miles) to MeFite favorite GameHaus Cafe (previously and previouslier)...well, you can imagine my excitement! [more inside]
(Grand Central Market) Game Nights
Food! Drink! Games! Friends! Food and drink and games and friends at the same time! [more inside]
Cards and/or Board Games in West Seattle
To state it simply, I'd only like to play games that I actually like at this session! If I have to learn yet another vampire game with a thousand rules, as always seems to happen when I attend games meetups, I'm gonna cry. [more inside]
PAX East Mefite Club III
Update: Sounds like folks are up for trying to meet at the board games library area at 10. I'll try to keep this thread updated through the day with location info.
I know some people like to just wander the floor for a bit when they first get in so we can still aim to reconvene at noon.-----
PAXEast is March 22-24. Anyone else planning to go?
It hasn't always been the most organized meet-up but I had a lot of fun with some mefites last year. If there's enough interest, I propose a meet-up on Saturday for boardgames or PC/console freeplay. [more inside]
non-RPG games in southish Seattle
I'm wondering if there is enough interest to have a non-RPG gaming session in one of the more southern neighborhoods of Seattle. I could host in my home in Beacon Hill (preferred), or at a public venue somewhere not incredibly far away, such as Georgetown, Capitol Hill, or Seward Park. Tuesday or Fridays work best for me (anytime), second choice would be Sunday late afternoon/evening, third choice would be Saturday. Saturdays that would work for me in the foreseeable future are October 20th and November 10th. Sundays that wouldn't work are October 28th and November 4th. [more inside]
PAX East MeFight Club redux
I think we all had a great time gaming and such last year -- let's do it again! The full show map hasn't been released yet, but I'd be surprised if there wasn't a handheld lounge with beanbag chairs setup approximately where it was last year. (I'll post a comment with further details and a link to the map once it's available.) Let's plan to meet there on Saturday morning. We'll play it by ear afterwards -- maybe board games, maybe PC or console freeplay -- maybe both if we have more people than last year. [more inside]
