Anybody interested in a get together at some point before the end of October? Scheduling wise, who would be up for this? I'm open to any ideas anyone wants to throw out for venue, dates, and activities. I was thinking maybe something after 7:00 the week of the 23rd, just as a jumping off point.

So maybe you're in Austin September 16-18 for ACL. Maybe you wanna meetup downtown. Haddington's is a nice place on West 6th, with an outdoor patio and well made drinks. [more inside]

It's time for Austin folks to beat the heat in some indoor, air-conditioned venue like the Dog & Duck on a weekend afternoon. I'm looking at the weekend of the 27th/28th, although I could be convinced to do Sunday the 21st or maybe the first weekend in September. Venue suggestions other than the Dog & Duck welcome, as well as date requests. ETA: After discussion in the comments, we have a meetup at the Dog & Duck on Sunday August 28 at 2 pm. It's time to plan for an Austin meetup and after the Alamo thread, one of the possibilities is an arthouse film or documentary at the Violet Crown downtown. UPDATED: We'll be seeing Page One on July 14 at the Violet Crown, 7:10 showing. Ticket link. [more inside]

As I've mentioned at the last couple of meetups, I'd love to do a Mefite karaoke happy hour at the Highball. If we go between 4:30 and 7:00 on a weekday, we can get a free room and happy hour prices on drinks. [more inside]

Jessamyn, Josh, and I will be in town for SXSW and our time is short but we'd like to do a late night Friday thing. We'll be downtown at the old timers ball previous to this (everyone is invited to that too).

Team Austin ran out of gas on the white elephant exchange, but it would be nice to say hi sometime this month before the big SXSW meetup that is no doubt coming down the pipe. [more inside]
