So maybe you're in Austin September 16-18 for ACL. Maybe you wanna meetup downtown. Haddington's is a nice place on West 6th, with an outdoor patio and well made drinks.
I have a place downtown if you need to crash or park, just around the bend.

I'm always up for a meetup, but I get the impression that in terms of getting space for a largish party, we have better luck when we're outside the downtown area. Especially when there is an event bringing a lot of people in from out of town.

I'm up for wherever, but if it's too noisy, I'll just have to sit there and smile. Maybe somewhere outdoors (not so reverby) would be nice if the weather's good? Schulz Garden?

Anywhere is ok, although I prefer to walk/bike to whatever the location.

I think it was at Fados for SXSW, that's just a couple if blocks away!

I'll be in Austin for the amazingly ill-timed American Society of Primatologists meetings that weekend. I'm pretty well-booked, but I'll be a maybe for wherever you all decide, and try to get there! I think the conference is somewhere downtown, on 4th Avenue?

My schedule has gotten solid-er: I'd be excited to do something Friday afternoon or evening, or Sunday afternoon. Saturday evening after 9 is a possibility, as well, unless my advisor ropes me into going to a bar with primatologists.

Opal Divines ( 700 West 6th Street in Downtown Austin) has beer, lots of food, and a huge outdoor patio.

If this works, Sunday afternoon would certainly be less crowded than Friday night, as would Sunday evening.

Fado is probably going to be noisier & more crowded than Opal Divines, from past experience. I've had dinner on Opal's patio, and it was pretty mellow. Unfortunately, my son's robotics team has robbed me of my Sunday afternoons until January, so you might have to carry on without me.

Pity. Leaving my neighborhood during ACL (without going to ACL) is more trouble than anything is worth.
