Thu October 27 at 8:00 PM, Fizz
3220 N Lincoln Ave, Chicago, IL, USA (Map & Directions)
Since phunniemee has requested a mid-month gathering - and she also brought up trivia earlier - We're going out for trivia on Thursday, 10/27.
We're going to Fizz in Lakeview (Belmont & Lincoln). Trivia begins at 8.30pm, so I figure we could meet around 8 to get settled in. A bit later than we're used to, I know, but their food is good and beer list is pretty big.
Trivia is run by Team Trivia Illinois. They have a wide variety of questions, some are on the topic of 'sport' (but aren't too challenging), and they give away one answer online. They say teams can be as big as we want.

This is a terrible lesson: whine enough about something and eventually one of yourminions buddies will do your bidding.

I'd be game. I've been to trivia there once before, and seem to remember having a good time. The beer was fantastic, though the list was very nearly overwhelming with its overabundance of choice. The Goat, this is not.

That sets a dangerous precedent. What happens if we do this again next month and you can't come? We can't show up without our mascot! Someone needs to start making a giant, fuzzy crankyrogalsky bobble head, stat!

What's going on in pop culture these days?
Last time I went to a trivia night, Scarlett Johansson had just broken up with her husband. Our team name was "The Future Ex Mr. Scarlett Johansson" (the team was mostly dudes who kept talking about her bangin' boobs), which was met with rave reviews.

My BF: Who's Scarlett Johansson?
Me: The blonde chick from that movie.
My BF: The Big Lebowski?
Me: No, Match Point. [note: we had just watched Match Point that weekend]
My BF: There was a blonde chick in that?
Me: *sigh* Yes.
Dude 2: How do you not know who Scarlett Johansson is?!
Dude 1: She's the extremely hot one!
Dude 2: With gigantic boobs!
Me: Seriously? How do you not remember this?

My cat loved pepperoni pizza. She was not, however, a zombie. Or Jesus. I suppose she was a stripper in the casual sense of the term--the very few times in her life when she had to wear the Cone of Shame so that she wouldn't bite at a sore spot on her leg or something, she would contort her body all *kinds* of ways to take it off.

No doubt -- as long as they aren't trying to eat my brains or proselytizer too much (same thing?), I'm a big fan of all four.
I'd really like to come to this, and it's such a convenient just-down-Ashland trip that I hope I can. I've got a pukey partner at home but talking to him, it sounds like it might be the type of sick where he'd appreciate me not being around. But if I can't make it, kick ass!

I spent an hour on the phone with my bf's tech genius little bro trying to walk me through what could be wrong, and I somehow managed to get it started up again (I think it's a fluke, though) which is how I'm even able to post this, and now I'm rabidly backing up EVERYTHING because I'm pretty sure it'll die again any second.
Anyway, because I'm not going to leave until I've got everything important transferred offa this sucker, I probably won't be there until closer to 8:30. Save me a good seat, in the middle, so I can rant to everyone about HOW DEAD MY COMPUTER IS OMG. See you folks soon! (Hopefully!)
