Metafilter 15th Anniversary Pop-Up MiniGolf Chicago Classic - Round 1

For those of you with a friendly competitive streak (you know who you are and I know who some of you are), I will be organizing the MetaFilter 15th Anniversary Pop-Up Mini Golf Chicago Classic -- two separate days where we play mini-golf at the pop-up courses run by City Mini Golf.
Join fellow MeFites in Chicago for our Month of Meetups celebrating MetaFilter's 15th anniversary EVERY! DAY! OF! JULY! or as close as we manage. All credit for MoM15 idea goes to eamondaly.
Round 1 will be on a weekday - I'm thinking Wednesday, July 9th but not sure yet -- at around 6:30 pm at Jahn Elementary School, 3149 N. Wolcott Ave. Date is flexible - time is pretty set as I think it closes at 8:00 pm daily. (Still looking into details.)
Round 2 will be on Friday, July 25th again starting around 6:30 pm at Lake View High School. After the match, awards will be given and fellowship will be had -- either at the Long Room or in my nearby backyard or likely both. Details TBD.
And yes, there will be prizes. You need not compete at both or either, but you may not qualify for grand prizes if you do not.

You guys I screwed this up and meant for it to be on the 9th, as the text says, not the 10th, as the post title says. Sorry if this changes things for anybody.

Want to do this, but I fly back from Florida on the 8th and fly to St. Louis on the 10th. Really just depends on the laundry.

It's a great thing that this current moment is a (a) stricter budget than usual time period and (b) trying to consolidate our clothing space, or something really stupid might have just happened at GolfKnickers.com.

Looking forward to seeing as many folks as possible tonight. I figure depending on turnout we can split into 2 or more groups as needed. Scoring will be, of course, on golf's traditional honor system, but not to the level where TV viewers call in to narc on potential rule violators.
(And for the record, this and this topped off by this would not have been stupid at all.)

My clever plan is to get off the Brown Line at Paulina and trot down to the lot. We just hit Southport, so I shouldn't be extravagantly late.

Um, so, awkward but the feeling I had that there had been a math error made on scoring last night turned out to be correct, and even more awkwardly, guess who it benefited?
Long story short, I had shaved 3 points off my score, so Zaximus and I have switched 6th and 7th position. Zach, I apologize for robbing you of that glory for even one moment, let alone a whole evening.

Each week, he sets up shop in a CPS parking lot and donates 15 percent of his proceeds to the host school. Last year, Michaels gave about $900 per week.
If I'd known that "charitable mini golf king" was a viable career path, I would have run my life rather differently.
