It may be tough to find a good spot for drinking in groups within a few blocks of moscone-Union square because of all the GDC parties going on. Going further afield though shouldn't be a problem

There's a couple less-well-known but great bars in the area around moscone, or in SoMa or the Mission. Is there a kid/family-friendly requirement?

I don't think we have be kids-friendly. But I don't know what other attendees have in mind, Phildini. I would give you free hands to decide a place. And even what day would be best.

Does anybody else want to weight in on venue and day?

Has anyone else been to Southern Pacific Brewing? I think it would handle a decent-sized meetup without a problem. It's in the Mission, not near Moscone.

As for when, I like Sunday.

Sunday works for me, I think. I haven't been to Southern Pacific but I am in favor since it's in my neighborhood and I am lazy. And I've heard fine things about it. And it's a short walk from 16th St BART.

Mikkeller is pretty close to Moscone (basically, just across Market into the Tenderloin) and it is pretty large and has a mega-beer selection. I've gone there twice and it hasn't been crowded, but that was a while ago. Anyone else been there recently?

Place: southern pacific Brewing.

Time: From 5pm - would that work?
