January Goatening

Wed January 1 at 6:00 PM, Billy Goat Tavern

Last night we discussed having the January Goat on the SECOND Wednesday, rather than the first, owing to that being New Year's Day, and owing to Berlin's Bowie Ball on the 2nd. What say you all? You all seem to say the First Wednesday is the First Wednesday and None Shall Encumber its Celebration. So be it.
Too bad about the Frog, though. And if people are interested in an earlier time, let me know.

I'd vote for the traditional time, owing entirely to the fact that I could make it on the 1st, but not the week after.

I just confirmed the Goat will be open; I'm checking in with various parties to make sure the Frog will be, too.

You are aware that there are these things called Ice Skates. These novel implements can serve to make ice traversal far less perilous and padding necessitating.
For this goatening, I'll be in New Orleans, so if I happen to run into any mefites/karaoke, I'm sure you'll read it here first.

Do you think amateurs playing sports on ice are less likely to injure themselves via collisions and falling with ice skates instead of without?

My wife and I realized that today will be the first day in this holiday season we'll have to ourselves, without any relatives. So we're going to stay in, relax, and gripe about our parents.
