Criterion Thursday: Do The Right Thing

Thu April 18 at 7:00 PM, ocherdraco's apartment (#4D, buzzer #407)
192 East 8th Street, Brooklyn, NY, USA (Map & Directions)
This week: Spike Lee's DO THE RIGHT THING ("The hottest day of the year explodes on-screen in this vibrant look at a day in the life of Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn. Featuring a stellar ensemble cast."). Because it's on a weekday, we're starting a little later: food at 7, movie at 8.
Potluck portion (if you're interested) starts at 7 - we'll be serving some kind of (vegan) group dish - if folks can bring either a vegan food item or beverage (beer is always a good pick), that's appreciated, but what's most important is to bring yourself. Movie starts at 8 on the dot.

Also: PLEASE RSVP, even if it's just to say maybe. This is being held in our living room, which is not infinitely large, so we need to know how many people are coming, and whether we should expect you.

On deck for April 25: Andrzej Wajda's A Generation.

Argh, just saw the fine print, movie doesn't start til 8. I'll have to bow out, but I hope you all enjoy the film; it's one of my favorites. I still want to go as Radio Raheem one Halloween...

Glad you had a good time! I'm sorry the Netflix DVD pooped out on us. Primer may not be in the Criterion Collection, but it was a good last minute replacement.

Eideteker, we ended up not watching Do the Right Thing because of technical difficulties. My plan is to get a better copy of it (we had a malfunctioning DVD) and to re-try during the summer, when we'll switch back to weekends for movie night, and can start the film a little earlier. So you didn't miss out, in the end!
