Wed February 6 at 5:30 PM, The Original Billy Goat Tavern
430 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL, USA (Map & Directions)
It's the 102nd anniversary of Zsa Zsa Gabor's birth. Celebrate by slapping a cop joining us at the Billy Goat for our monthly revelry.
Some details:
  • It's on LOWER Michigan Avenue.
  • We're usually on the left side as you come in.
  • It's actually pretty low-key for something I described as a "revelry"
  • We'll probably go to karaoke afterwards but where will be a game time decision
  • I'd love to see you

  • *Yes I know it was Eva Gabor on Green Acres

Fake slapping a fake cop is so meta.

How the fuck can it possibly be true an entire month has gone by? I want my January back. (I suspect slapping cops won't leave me with more free time. But, it does sound like fun.)

I'm petty sure I can make this one for a change, though I'll be late. As always, thanks for advertising it.

This should be Feb 6 (ie tomorrow), right?
    Calendars. So hard.

I won't be able to make it for the next couple of months because I'm going to be taking another class on how to make glazes on Wednesdays. However, I will put April on the calendar now.

I am dithering on buying a Gabor hat. It won't be here by tomorrow, though. March, I'm looking at you.

I moved to Lakeview on Friday, so it will actually be feasible for me to attend the après Goat this time!

Has anyone confirmed or denied Live Wire (she asks, knowing that she has not and is responsible for the rumor in the first place)

Mary Mac is not at Live Wire, but Wendy is. Given the storm I think we can comfortably call an audible and hit somewhere a little more convenient (Holiday Club is the most likely candidate).

Having now looked up cameo.com, it's fascinating.

There aren't enough minor Star Trek actors or Red Dwarf cast enrolled to really make it useful to me, but perhaps that will change in time.

And the "venture capitalist" category is adorable. Like dogs playing piano.

I wonder how Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films) arrived at the rather specific figure of $444 for his video greetings? Everyone else picked some arbitrary multiple of 5.
posted by Iridic at 8:45 AM on February 8 [1 favorite]

    Draco is 2/3 evil maybe?

(I am unfamiliar with the actual details of the Harry Potter universe beyond the first two books and whatever stuff JK Rowling is creating lately and even that I'm only familiar with if Twitter starts mocking it.)

Maybe Felton constructed an elaborate spreadsheet, and it told him scientifically that his time is 5.92x more valuable than Jesse Metcalf's.
