I bought himself a house earlier this year in Eureka, and it's meetup time! There's a MeFite who just touched down in Arcata last month, so let's give him a hearty welcome to our wonderful area. Meet your MeFi neighbors and my kitteh posse. On the menu: BBQ, homemade pizza. Leaning towards September 21 (as it's my 41st birthday!) but I've got plenty of flexibility; most Fridays/Saturdays in Sept are open. Event flyer. As part of Obsura Day (MeFi post), there will be a tour of "upcycled" art projects in Cambria, though Nitt Witt Ridge is the only location listed so far. Tours appear to repeat, starting on the hour, from 10 am to 4 pm. The suggested donation is $10, and you can offer more or less, but you'll have to email someone about that. [more inside]

As part of his California travels, MeFi's Beloved Cold Chef will be driving up to Hearst Castle on Wednesday, June 8th and stopping for 'late breakfast/brunch' in SLO. I have enticed him to join me at the World Famous Madonna Inn coffee shop at 10AM or later (time very approximate after drive from L.A.) and all other SLO/Central Coast MeFites are also invited. I'm coming into town before MaxFunCon and I'd like to meetup with some L.A. MeFites on Thursday, June 9, 2011. I'm staying at a hotel on Fairfax near the Farmer's Market, but I'm willing to drive if the destination doesn't require me to navigate tiny streets and hunt for parking (I'm a country-boy at heart.)
