Sun March 13 at 12:00 PM, Caldera Public House
6031 SE Stark St, Portland, OR, USA (Map & Directions)
Come play Dominion, Settlers of Catan, Zombie Dice, Fluxx and more!
We'll be in the private event space at the Caldera Public House for the second time. It's a great room, they've got great beer, a full bar, and nummy foodstuff.
There has been discussion of having the next one on a Saturday. How do folks feel about that?

I have a typical 9-to-5 job, so I've got no strong feelings about Saturday vs. Sunday vs. weeknight. So, you guys have a grand old time hashing it out!

I'll call Caldera and check out how busy things get on Saturdays, but I'm willing to bet that as long as we started at noon we'd be fine.
Let's keep this one for this Sunday, though.

How OK is it for people who have never played these games to join? I know that sometimes stopping to constantly explain, or negotiate severe skill differences, is annoying.

msalt, I just learned Dominion and it was pretty easy to pick up quickly. I seem to remember Settlers being similar - the great thing about them is that they are easy to learn but the nuances make them really fun to play.
I'm going to try to stop in for a few games if I can!

Ton of fun last time, sorry we can't make it to this one but SXSW beckons.
And yeah, msalt, totally don't worry about not knowing the games. Part of thefiendish plan fun of this thing is introducing people to new games and making players out of them.

I can't make it to stuff on saturdays until 5 or so. I'm perfectly willing to dive into stuff late though so while sundays are optimal, stuff starting sat afternoon and running into evening might work.

I plan on bringing my knitting to revert to when I am unable to grasp the rules or point of any of the games. There will still be beer.

Provided my studying goes well, I'll be there with a game and my crocheting.

I'll get there eventually. Noon on weekends is "early morning" to me, especially today with "spring forward" and all; so getting out and about is taking me a bit.

I'll be heading out shortly.
But, as I am coming from Beaverton, it'll be awhile before I arrive.

Aha! The game I definitely did not dream up is called Doodle Dice.

I confirmed that Doodle Dice is, in fact, real.

It's possible that more people could make it on Saturday.
But it may be more difficult to find a location with enough space.
Although, Caldera seems to work well.
