DC FOODIES Enjoy Libations in a Social Setting

Sun September 29 at 7:00 PM, Pisco y Nazca
1823 L St NW, Washington, DC, USA (Map & Directions)
Pisco y Nazca facetiously translates "entre Pisco y Nazca" as "the enjoyment of libations in a social setting" and that's what we're going to do gosh darn it. Come join us for pisco, ceviche, and other Peruvian delights!
If you're new to DC FOODIES: welcome, we'd love to have you join us! This is an informal group of DC-area MeFites who get together approximately once a month to explore world cuisines and cheap eats in the DMV. Family and friends of all ages are welcome.

This is right next to the Farragut North and Farragut West Metro stations in DC, or as their website literally states, "Next to Recessions Bar & Grill" because you gotta know your local landmarks.

I'll grab a reservation based on RSVPs a week or so in advance. And apologies - I know Sunday night probably isn't best for some folks, but this month is filling up really fast on my calendar and I wanted to get this in before October begins.

I can't come, I just want to celebrate "Next to Recessions" because it is a thing of beauty.

I'd like to come to a DC foodies MeFi meetup, especially when they're happening in DC and easily accessed by public transit, but the menu is not enticing for my vegan diet. Hopefully another time. Bon appetit!

Ah fair, it's been a while since we did a vegetarian/vegan-friendly one :( Do you have any favorite spots in DC that would work for future meetups? World cuisines, cheap eats, etc.? Would love to make this a welcoming thing for plant-based diets!

Woo, excited to be able to make this one!

Hey all! I just might be ready my first IRL! I'm gonna go ahead and sign up. Then I'll be too embarrassed to cancel at the last minute. :)

Thank you for being open to those of us with veg-type diets! Some of my favorite places that work for gathering in groups with diverse palates/ dietary preferences are Busboys & Poets (Chinatown or 14 & V locations) and Teaism (the Penn Quarter location has a lot of seating in the basement). For specific cuisines, I personally love Mandu for Korean food, Sprig & Sprout (not as metro-friendly, but easily accessed by bus) for Vietnamese food, Barcelona for tapas, and Lapis for Afghan food. Happy to think further about this with future organizers if anyone would like. :)

oh ha I had apparently confused Pisco y Nazca with Nazca Mochica.
Naturally these places are barely half a mile apart :)

Nazca Mochica is also great (I used to live up the street)! I'm hoping Pisco y Nazca will be a little more budget friendly, though.

alas, i'm stuck between the rock of homework and the hard place of rosh hashana services (or, uh, something), so i'm going to have to miss this after all.

l'shana tova, y'all. i'll join you for one of these things some day....

For those I haven’t met, I’ll be in a grey lace blazer, grey t shirt, and long flowery skirt. See you in a few!
