Join us after work at the original World Famous Billy Goat Tavern for tiny beers and food from the greasy grill. We're fun! We're friendly! Frankly. we're fantastic. Later in the evening, we'll meander over to Livewire Lounge for First Wednesday Karaoke with the incomparable Mary Mac. That's when you'll see how fantastic we truly are. There might be shenanigans in between. You can never be too sure.

Our Concord grapes have ripened and we're desperate to give them away. Favorite this comment by tonight and I will bring you grapes tomorrow.

Don't be shy! We have over 10 pounds of fresh, delicious grapes and I don't have time for canning projects this month.

hydrophonic! I have mystery grapes growing in my yard, and I think they are Concord - how can I tell if they're ripe enough to pick and make things with? (Sorry to turn this IRL into an ASK)

I won't be able to make this tonight, otherwise I'd totally offer to grapeswap.

Concords are spherical with seeds and thick skins, and taste like grape juice or jelly. Mine are ripe when they have a deep purple color. Clusters will have a few unripened holdouts, especially if, like mine, nobody remembered to prune away some of the leaves in August so the fruits get more sun.

Vines should be cut back severely in the late winter, and apparently there's a whole schedule of pruning that I'm not doing, but it's not like we don't have grapes everywhere right now.

Jessica and Mike (and anyone else who might want grapes), if you brought your lunches today and have empty containers to use, that would be awesome. If not, I'll see if I can get some inexpensive ones from CVS.

I do not have a container but will bring my empty lunch cooler which will also have bags in it so I do not worry about me for containers either.
