Let's have a meetup in a more refined setting than normal and meetup at the Metropolitan Museum's rooftop garden bar which currently has an art installation by Dan Graham on it.
The roof bar has a fantastic view of central park and the museum is open until 9 on Friday nights. I'm going to suggest 7:30 for the bar which gives us time to view the installation and have a drink before closing.
This is excellent, though I've got a show at 9:30 that night. I hate to feel like I'm always doing the disappearing act at meetups.

I was really looking forward to this one, but I don't think the stars are in my favor - had to drop my laptop off for repairs on Tuesday and it's supposed to be ready for pickup on Friday, and it's kinda heavy for lugging around with me all meetup.

My stars have re-aligned, TekServe just called to say my computer is ready for pick-up now, yay! I get out of work at 3 on Fridays, so, I would be up for some pre-drinks museum wandering if anyone else is.

If I am reading the Met's website correctly, the bar closes at 8:15. Perhaps we should plan to meet a little earlier than 7:30, if possible?

I always just give them a dollar, I believe you have to give them at least penny. It's usually fine and only marginally awkward.
