Who wants to get together in Our Fair City?
Mefites, in this season of holidays there is a lull between Thanksgiving and the late winter glut of thanking various deities for stuff. Let's put something in there!
Wednesday nights are good for me. As far as trivia, we could always use help on Monday Nights at Tommy Doyle's when a Geeks Who Drink "thing" is called (i.e. MeFites win free beer), so I'd instead rather attend a meetup where people actually get to stretch out and converse.

I am a person who enjoys trivia. I would also enjoy an excuse to go to Inman and have myself some saag paneer.
Additionally, I should add that we will like get together for the roughly biweekly Harvard Sq Monday trivia on the 26th, but I mention that only so that you are aware it. I am almost always up for additional trivia.

Re: not_on_display's comment, I also enjoy just hanging out, so trivia is not required. Didn't mean to over-emphacize it.

I enjoy getting to know new people's personalities, but trivia puts a barrier there by forcing you to focus on a different subject every few minutes. However, I would definitely enjoy the chance to meet more MeFites.
If I were to propose some sort of get-together, I think it would probably be something like having a few drinks at a bar, followed by a snowball fight, followed by a low-key dinner someplace inexpensive and casual. The drinking period gives people a chance to get to know each other and build alliances beforehand, and the dinner afterwards gives people a chance to unwind and make sure there are no hard feelings from that snowball that went right up someone's nose, etc.
Just a thought - and I only bring it up since you seemed to be soliciting suggestions. Generally speaking though, I'm usually up for anything.

Cool! So perhaps just a drinking session with maybe a dinner following? Does anyone have a night that is best or worst for them? With or without trivia Wednesday's are good for me. Could I suggest the 28th? Or maybe the 5th? I'll move this to proposed once we put a date, time and place on it. How does everyone feel about The Druid in general (sans trivia)

I didn't mean to piss in the pool by suggesting a non-trivia meetup! I would definitely play trivia, but I think if you want a "meetup" (as opposed to a pwning-in-trivia) you'll get to actually meet interesting folks, and hear stories and talk about things other than "Famous Hairdon'ts"... like plates of beans etc etc.
(OOOO I am so using that as a theme!! Famous Hairdon'ts! I actually just started a gig as a pub-trivia writer for Geeks Who Drink.)

Wednesdays are generally difficult for me as a regular thing but on an occasional basis I can definitely work around that.

The Druid sounds fine to me.
As noted, I would be highly likely to join a dinner at Punjabi Dhaba either before or afterwards. We could take over the upstairs. Potentially. It's just the best Indian food in Boston is all I'm saying.

Finally, a meetup that I can come to - Mondays just don't work for me, ever. I'm happy with or without trivia, I like the Druid, I love Punjabi Dhaba, and I haven't been to Inman in ages. I'm in.

I have not gone out for Indian food since I moved back to Boston. I REALLY LIKE INDIAN FOOD. Looking forward to this!
